Overview

From the beloved New York Times bestselling author of I Wish You More, Amy Krouse Rosenthal, this delectable follow-up to the bestselling Cookies and Christmas Cookies defines words that are associated with love.

From letting your friend have the last cookie (selfless) to waiting to lick the bowl together (considerate), here is a book for anyone looking for the right words to say I love you. Meanings are illuminated in this different kind of dictionary, which is every bit as heartwarming as the experience of baking cookies with someone you love.

Amy Krouse Rosenthal's sweet little lessons, mixed with warm and inviting illustrations by mother-daughter duo Jane Dyer and Brooke Dyer, make for a book that will hit the spot! Go ahead, have another bite! (And another.)

A lovely Valentine's Day present, especially with some home-baked cookies.

I really dislike these books they are too cutesy and really kinda make no sense, relating cookies to emotions. Not in a good read aloud format.

I love to read this book to my child. Each page has a different word with a definition of that word related to cookies and people. The definitions are very realistic in terms of real-world application. For example, "Admire means, I really look up to you and the way you are with you cookies. You remind me of what is good and possible in this world." Or "Supportive means that when your cookies are a huge hit at the bake sale, no one is happier for you than I am." My favorite is, "How Much I Love You means that even if I made cookies from morning to night every single day forever and ever and ever, it still wouldn't even come close." The illustrations are cute with animals dressed up as people alongside real people. There is even a sugar cookie recipe at the end in case your budding cook is interested in make his or her own sugar cookies. Give this book a read. It is definitely SWEET.

This book combines an interest in cooking and baking with learning new vocabulary in a "sweet" way. Each page begins with a challenging new vocabulary word that children can relate to cooking and baking. The illustrations are gorgeous. The richness of sharing the joy of baking cookies, talking about the new words, observing the illustrations, and creating a moment of togetherness with your favorite child is priceless.

This is the second book in this series. I purchased a copy of the first book, "Cookies", for my son's teacher and liked it so much that I purchased one for myself. I, of course, had to purchase this one when it came out. It is the cutest book of life's little lessons in terms that children can understand. It is definitely something we will read and reread over the years and will hopefully pass on to my son's kids.
