About the Author

Jim Henry is a businessman, philanthropist, and lover of adventure. Willy Nilly stories have been told in Jim Henry's family for three generations. They began with his grandfather, who passed the tradition down to Jim's father, who told them to Jim when he was a child. Like his grandfather and father before him, Jim continued the tradition by telling bedtime stories about Willy Nilly, first to his three children and then to his eleven grandchildren. "Buddy Holly composed music to live audiences, and if they didn't like it, he changed it," says Jim with a laugh. "So that's what I did with my stories." Such improvisation, which also included creating the magical land of Choco, enabled Jim to field-test his stories. This gave him a strong feel for the ones that engaged, taught, and entertained children the most. Jim has now collected the best of these stories and is bringing them to life through colorful illustrations in the series of delightful Willy Nilly and Thumper books. Jim Henry's spirit of adventure and giving comes pouring through the endearing stories in his delightful new children's book series, The Adventures of Willy Nilly and Thumper. He now lives in Midland, Texas, with his wife, Paula.

Jimmy Patterson is an award-winning journalist, a novelist, and the author of several nonfiction books, including A History of Character: The Story of Midland, Texas. A father of three and grandfather of one, he lives in Midland, Texas, with his wife, Karen.

Marjorie Van Heerden has written and/or illustrated more than 120 children's picture books. Her work has won awards internationally. A mother of two and grandmother of three, she lives in Gordon's Bay, South Africa, with her husband, Johann.
