Suspended helplessly between life and death, Luke Skywalker lies in state at the Jedi academy. But on the spirit plane, Luke fights desperately for survival, reaching out physically to the Jedi twins. At the same time, Leia is on a life-and-death mission of her own, a race against Imperial agents hoping to destroy a third Jedi child — Leia and Han's baby Anakin — hidden on the planet Anoth. Meanwhile, Luke's former protÚgÚ Kyp Durron has pirated the deadly Sun Crusher on an apocalyptic mission of mass destruction, convinced he is fighting for a just cause. Hunting down the rogue warrior, Han must persuade Kyp to renounce his dark crusade and regain his lost honor. To do it, Kyp must take the Sun Crusher on a suicide mission against the awesome Death Star prototype — a battle Han knows they may be unable to win... even with Luke Skywalker at their side!

I had actually seen this book around quite a bit but just never picked it up then I saw it at my library and decided to give it a try, and I'm glad I did. This is a very enjoyable book my favorite parts are when Luke Is introduced into the pages, plenty of action for any one looking for it and as always the Star Wars universe draws you into it's utter vastness, the two young main characters are also nice leads to read about as they go along their adventures with the help of their friends. If you love Star Wars but haven't had the chance to read this title just yet then I suggest you give it a try.

The Star Wars franchise has spawned movies, cartoons, and novels of which this book is one. I haven't been following the Star Wars stories since the 1977, but apparently there has been an enitre soap opera going on all these years. In this book the twins of Han Solo and Princess Lea, Jacen and Jaina (who knew they had children!) are exploring the jungle outside the academy. They discover the remains of a TIE fighter that had crashed years ago during the battle against the first Death Star. They repair the fighter but the original pilot, Qqrl, an Imperial trooper, has been living wild in the jungle since his ship went down and is watching. Qqrl wants to return to the Empire and fight the Rebellion. Naturally, there are adventures and battles involving various species and lots of technology. This book would be a good addition for the LMC and would fit will for either middle or high school level LMC's.

love this series. I was just walking through the library trying to find a book for reading during a trip I was going on and just came across them. Got one to read and ended up wishing I had taken them all out they were so good. Since then I've read everyone I've been able to find! Can't wait till I can buy copies of my own!

When I first saw this book, I said 'Nah' But boy was I wrong! Once I began reading it, it was so interesting! I have read the first 3 books of the series, and I am just starting the 4th - LIGHTSABERS. Now if I had lots of money, I'd like to buy the whole STAR WARS shelf at Barnes & Noble (Except I'm still too young to even get a job!)

The entire Young Jedi Knight series is one of the best out there. The characters of Jacen, Jaina, Tenal Ka, and Lowbacca are very fun to read about. I love all of these books and I suggest they all be read.

I started reading this book some weeks ago. Unfortunately, I lost it. What I read was very good, describing the life of the young jedi knights in the academy, and a visit from Han Solo, when Lowie enters the scene.

This Book is the first of 14 books about The Jedi Academy and its students, Jacen, Jaina, Lowbacca, and Raynar. In this book Jacen and Jaina find and destroyed Tie Fighter and its pilot who gets away in seach of the destroyed Emipire. This is a must read book.
