This volume is lots of fun! These are the novelizations of the classic Star Trek episodes that were done by James Blish in the 1960s and 1970s. This is not something that somebody hacked out last year. Rather, this volume holds something that was quintessential to early Trek fandom. These adaptations have Blish's unique flavor, and sometimes have details that were not present in the episodes themselves. Remember that Trek was still being developed when Blish wrote these, so had to add a little of his own exposition which might not fit our later idea of things in Trek. Please disregard the ignorant one-star review left by "Anonymous."

These are stories translated off the original series scripts, exactly what it says on the book insert. Don't go buying it if that's not what you wanted then come here and write an groundless review. I loved all the Star Trek TV shows and have absolutely no problem adding this beautiful book to my collection.

This book is a lot of fun! I really appreciated reading these tales. Though, as an avid Star Trek fan, I was hoping for more plot and character development than was provided. I felt the author could have filled in character conversation with a bit of internal dialog. That being said, this is still a fun addition to any Trekkie's library.

Very elegant and handsome book. Front end papers has Bones, Kirk, Spock, and Sulu (not sure why Scotty wasn't the 4th) portraits. Back end papers is a shot of the enterprise. The embossing is beautiful and there is a ribbon bookmark and edges are silver gilt. The book contains novelizations of all 3 seasons which were sold separately as 3 books, now combined into one book. Book was shipped to my home and arrived quickly and no dinged corners.

It's a pleasure reading James Blish's transcriptions of the original screenplays, like watching the series again.

If this is the hard back of all of the paper backs that I bought this should be great.
