Overview

The updated 7th edition of this combination textbook and workbook is designed as an introduction to Spanish for classroom use. The emphasis is on oral proficiency—conversational speaking and listening comprehension—but the authors also present detailed instruction in the fundamentals of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing in Spanish. The book is filled with exercises and answers, true-to-life dialogues, humorous cartoons, illustrations of Hispanic art, and photos that capture the flavor of Spanish culture in Spain and Latin America. In this new edition, the lessons have been enriched with subtopics to enhance conversational speech. Also new with this edition are four compact discs that have been updated in content, and which replace the previously available tape cassettes, This audio component supplements the book, providing valuable instruction in listening comprehension and correct pronunciation of spoken Spanish. A teacher's manual is also available.

Spanish Now! Level 1 with CDs 3.6 out of 5 based on 0 ratings. 5 reviews.

I highly recommend this book to all those that want to teach or learn Spanish. It is easy to understand, has examples that are very consistent, lessons are organized and it even has CD's,a dictionary and a teacher's manual. And the price is fine, other books cost much more and you don't learn anything. The first reviewer "book review" says it is a bad book-maybe she doesn't understand it. For this book you have to study a lot, take the course very seriously with a teacher and practice Spanish as much as possible. This book is valuable to everyone that is committed about learning Spanish and the brand Barron's is one of the best educational ones out there. A great book, do buy it!

Extremely satisfied with this purchase. Although the description said "used" book, only the first page had hand writings. The book came in perfect condition with a CD as described. Thank you very much.

I am extremely disappointed with this bbok. I am determined to learn the spanish language and have plenty of spanish speaking people supporting me. This book is not updated or current. I spend alot of money on the book, growing up the barrons books were great. I do not find this text user friendly their examples are obsure and inconsistent. terrebly disappointed in this book and am out 30$.

While this book is full of written dialouge and pleasant illustrations, the fact that it does not 'start at the beginning' with the introduction of grammar concepts and verb conjugations, makes this book useful ONLY for someone who already has a working knowledge of Spanish. Do not buy this book if you are looking for a beginner text to learn the foundations of Spanish.
