"Some Day You Will No All About Me" is a fascinating account of children's letter writing over an extended period. It is both a highly enjoyable read and an important contribution to our understanding of young children's authorship. The children, aged five, began a prolonged exchange of letters with two adults whom they had met only once. This book covers the first two years of the exchange. Many of the children's letters are reproduced in the book. They provided an unparalleled opportunity to study the spontaneous and unassisted work of very young authors, the development of their writing, and the ability to relate to a distant audience across time. The conclusions drawn about these young authors and their willingness to tackle complex and difficult writing tasks when genuinely motivated, are both powerful and challenging.
