This is an excellent guide--it is like a giant field/aquatic guide of sorts with lots of information and great photos of almost every everything on Earth, but of course, it does not cover all--that is every thing on Earth in-depth, etc. This is good for any age as a reference, or to learn what books one needs for a more in-depth view. Great going again for DK publishing that produces an excellent visual guide product.

this is truely the the ultimate visual guide to everything on earth! Very thick, lots of nice photos. YOU MUST GET THIS BOOK! It shows almost all the kinds of planets in the world. Nice HUGE pictures of tigers and polar bears. If you don't like big thick books with lots of words and pictures, then you are missing out on one of the coolest books ever made.
