This Barnes & Noble Exclusive Edition includes six unique botanical prints. Each print vividly showcases the plant kingdom's wonder and beauty!

Discover the extraordinary diversity of the plant world—and how plants work—with this photographic celebration of the trees, flowers, and foliage plants that share our planet.

From tiny mosses and delicate ferns to vibrant blooms and stately palms, Flora invites you to explore the plant kingdom from the ground up, and from root to leaf tip. DK's elegant introduction to botany is packed with sumptuous photos and crystal-clear illustrations that explain the mechanics of photosynthesis, why leaves change color, how cacti store water, and how seeds know when to grow. Filled with fascinating stories of how plant roots and leaves communicate with their neighbors and how flowers use color and scent to interact with—and manipulate—the creatures around them, Flora is a fresh and engaging introduction to the mysterious inner workings of the plant world.

Very disappointed with Barns and Noble. B & N sent this "bargain" item unprotected without packing materials -period. No bubble wrap, styrofoam, nor even a simple buffer. It's clear why the spine was damaged/separated from top to bottom upon arrival. I do however, have a suspicion that this "Barns and Noble Exclusive" was mailed to me damaged to begin with as they would not replace the item (I was told by them that there are no more copies left in their warehouse) and yet, as you can see on their site the book is indeed available for purchase. It's a shame as this particular book is indeed beautiful -just purchase it through another company as I will in the future.
