Overview

A brand new novella in the New York Times bestselling series featuring vampires in the Windy City.

Merit, the Sentinel of Chicago's Cadogan House, is pregnant. She's ready to meet her daughter, but also excited to see her feet again. While out on an evening walk, Merit stops to help a man in need, only to find herself the victim of a kidnapping attempt. Someone with a serious debt to some very serious people thinks Cadogan House will pay a rich reward for Merit's return.

Jonah, the handsome captain of Grey House's guards, is on his way to a meeting at Cadogan--and if he's honest with himself, to drop in on Cadogan's gorgeous and brilliant chef, Margot--when he stumbles on the aftermath of the attack. He'll stop at nothing to help the Cadogan vampires, including Margot, face down the threat.

Such a hopeful and happy ending. Labor was very entertaining. Good to see Jonah finally settled down.

Absolutely loved it. Couldn't have been better. I'm so happy for a fictional couple, it's ridiculous.

I think the ending was too short. I would've liked to read more.

Loved it! Excellent way to put the bow on the package of the Chicagoland Vampire series AND dangle a carrot out there for us as we get ready for the new series.

Just a birth of a baby and all that leads up to it. Violence was thrown in and of course another love story in the making.

I love anything to do with Chicoland Vampires and this book was just the icing on the cake before the new series starts by this author. We get Ethan, and of course Merit finds herself in trouble, and she is pregnant. Jonah is her hero in a way for this particular issue, as he was on his way to see Margo whom he has taken a fancy too. Also Margo has her own secret demons which will all open in this story. I think we get a sneak peek into the future of Cadogan house perhaps or maybe just another Mallory / Merit reincarnation haha. Both are pregnant so you can only imagine what may happen in the future. Young Connor who is Gabriel' son I feel will play a large part as well. So alas this book keeps us wanting so much more and I am so on board to wait... Loved this story and can not wait for more.

An interesting mystery & a chance to see Merit during the end of her pregnancy. Thoroughly enjoyed it & finished the story in one sitting!

Loved it like all her other books. It's a little snack story to help tie up a couple of other story lines. Good read while waiting for another full novel.
