About the Author

Susan Johnson, award-winning author of nationally bestselling novels, lives in the country near North Branch, Minnesota. A former art historian, she considers the life of a writer the best of all possible worlds. Researching her novels takes her to past and distant places, and bringing characters to life allows her imagination full rein, while the creative process offers occasional fascinating glimpses into complicated machinery of the mind. But most important...writing stories is fun.

This is an exciting tale that takes the reader from England to the wilds of Scotland to the harem of the Bey in Tunis then back to England. Chelsea is about to be engaged to a depraved lord as a means to pay her father's gaming debts. She asks St, John to take her virginity as a means to stop her father. He refuses because he doesn't bed virgins. Trickery ensues; the deed is done. When her oldest brother finds them naked together Chelsea makes no attempt to cover herself. I found this disconcerting and wondered why she chose to remain exposed to her brother. She loudly tells her male family that it was her idea and the reasoning behind it. Chelsea has now had a taste of sex and is wanting more from St. John. A bet results in a week long tryst, a pregnacy and a forced wedding. Much goes wrong from there. Susan Johnson has written an exciting tale, but it needs more careful proofreading to correct punctuation and spelling errors. The sudden appearance of Beau was odd since "everyone knew about him", but he'd not been mentioned before. Toward the end the writing became too long; the sentences dragged on in similes. I found the use of footnotes unusual, but they were good for clarifying the age.

Delightful, fast paced & sexy. You won't be able to put this down. Sin has a different meaning in this story. Don't miss this one.

This has to be one of the few romances I've read where the "danger" at the end of the book didn't seem forced. I found the hero to be as thoroughly rakish as he was described, which also doesn't happen often, and while the heroine was independent, her actions didn't seem so out of place that it was distracting. All in all a pretty good read and I am definitely going to be reading the rest of the series.

This book is one of Susan Johnson's best and is one of my favorite books in any category. Sinjin, is the ultimate bad-boy sexy hero. Unlike some of the author's romances, which are short, erotic and sweet, "Sinful" is a romantic epic!

This was an okay read. Another steamy regency romance. I found myself skipping and skimming a bit. Maybe my lack of undivided interest was due to myself more so than this book in itself. I will read from this author again before passing judgement.
