New York Times bestselling author Carly Phillips presents the first in a series about a quaint upstate New York town where love, fate, and fortune are intertwined…
Faith Harrington was the classic girl of privilege—until her father was convicted of running a Ponzi scheme and then her marriage crashed and burned.
Now Faith is back in her hometown, hoping for a fresh start. But her father’s betrayal has rocked Serendipity—and not everyone is ready to welcome her with open arms. Then she runs into her teenage crush—the dark, brooding Ethan Barron. Ethan, no stranger to scandal himself, never imagined he’d own the mansion on the hill, much less ever again come face-to-face with Faith—the princess he once kissed senseless. The chance meeting reignites the electric charge between them.
Still, when Ethan hires her to redecorate what was once her childhood home, Faith is sure that getting involved with the town’s notorious bad boy will lead only to trouble. But her heart has other ideas. And so do the townspeople of Serendipity…

I no longer will read a long review because people are giving to much away. If more than a couple of lines will not read. This way no one can ruin it for me. I suggest that others do the same

The author does a nice job developing this story - giving us the back ground of what Faith and Ethan experienced when they were young and not ready to handle the relationship. Then when they are both grown and back home she does a nice job developing their romance and the stuggles they both are expereince by their pasts and what is happening at the current time in their lives. Its a very good romantic read. Every girls dream.

I love all of Carly Phillips' books. The characters in Serendipity were ones I think must can relate to. It's nice to know that some people do judge people on their actions and not on another's. It's a journey from guilt to acceptance and one I think you will enjoy.

Carly Phillips has started another good series! I've been a long time fan of hers and have enjoyed her other series, the Hot Zone, the Chandler Bros, the "Simply...." ones, add this new one to your list. I'm looking forward to the next one in the Serendipity series.

Ms Phillips always writes a fun and sexy book with characters that are very real. I am sure Bernie Madoff was the inspiration for the plot which involved the wife and daughter of a ponzi cheat who come back to town where neither is very popular. Faith sets about proving herself to the community while her mother sits and cries over her misfortune. Bad boy Ethan has also come back to town and he and Faith had a brief encounter in high school that remains as "unfinished business". Ethan has two estranged brothers (see two more books coming) and then Tess shows up to further complicate matters. She is a half sister none of the three knew about. The plot is a bit complex but compelling. I always judge a book by how long it takes to read it. This one was over in a day. If you enjoy light, funny, sexy and believable then Serendipity (and other Phillips books) is for you.

Originally Requested on NetGalleyBought a copy for myselfOverall Rating 4.25Story Rating 4.00Character Rating 4.50Note: This is the first book in awhile that I read in just one sitting. The family dynamics, down-to-earth romance, and wonderful story was just what I needed to get out of my reading funk! What I Loved: Tess! Normally I am not a fan of teenagers in my romance books but in this case, it really worked. The way she interacted with Ethan and Faith was just fantastic. Was Texx angsty? Sure. Did Tess have very good reasons for being angsty for a 14 year old? Yes! I think she also gave something Ethan needed--a way to prove to himself that he really had changed! The romance between Ethan and Faith was one of the most down-to-earth and organic relationships I have read lately. The interactions between all three were something I looked forward to all of Serendipity. What I Liked: The family interactions were the heart of this story and I really am interested to see how they all play out in the series. Ethan's attempts to rebuild his relationships with his brothers (Dare and Nash) were both heart-breaking and hopeful. I think Tess will help mend the gap over the course of the series. Faith's interactions and acceptance of her mother was tenuous at times but done really well. Kate and Nick were my favorite side characters though and I am hoping they get a story!Complaints: NoneWhy I gave it a 4.25: The was a really good romance with a hopeful story attached!
