About the Author
Samuel Harris (1814-1899) was the fifth president of Bowdoin College. After leaving Bowdoin in 1871, he taught at Yale Divinity School for another twenty five years. His major work, The Philosophical Basis of Theism, received worldwide notice. He is also the author of God the Creator and Lord of All.
