This was my least favorite from Joan Lowery Nixon. The main character was too emotional, even though her best friend had just died. It was just too over-the-top and the story was too melodramatic with very little action and was, honestly, quite forgettable. I cannot remember anything about the killer or motive.

This author is starting to become one of my favorite authors. Like the suspense in her writing and pace. Even if the ending I thought, while good, I was like, huh, thought there was going to be more there. Like that Marti kept with it and was looking into what happened to her friend Barry, if everyone thought the opposite, except for Karen, a cop, who helps Marti. Near the end however I was like, Marti why would you do that, do you not know what happens in scary movies? Anyway, pretty good quick suspenseful read.

The name of this book is Secret Silent Screams. The author of this book is Joan Lowery Nixon. I think this book is unique because it is about a teenager named Barry who supposedly kills himself. Everyone believes that he took his own life except for his friend Marti. I like this book because it is exciting. The main characters are Marti and Officer Karen Prescott. They play big parts in this book. There are many settings in this book. Some of the settings are in Marti's high school. Most are in different parts of the town. A lot are in her house. Barry supposedly committed suicide. Everyone believes that except for one of his friends Marti. Marti thinks this because Barry wasn't depressed or showing any signs of committing suicide. She solved the problem by finding out who killed him. She put the pieces together one at a time. Without Marti Barry's death would still be known as suicide. She figured out who killed him, and also stopped it from happing again. She is brave, sad, curious, and smart. She changes from scared, confused, and depressed to brave, a little scared, and sad but still ready to clear her friend's name. Officer Karen Prescott helped Marti get information. Without her Marti would not know half the stuff she does now. Karen is smart, knows what Marti is going through, and she is an officer. She changes from thinking Marti is a little upset and making up stuff, but as the book goes along she learns Marti is right. One book that I have read called Among the Hidden is also one of my favorites. The characters are alike in a few ways, like there attitude throughout those books. In Among the Hidden, the events are dangerous and sometimes sad. In Secret, Silent Screams it's mostly dangerous and scary. The style of this is book just like in Among the Hidden. I really enjoyed reading this book because I like mystery books. I like all the parts in this book because all the parts were exciting. This book this book is unique because it is about a boy who was murdered. Then the killer made it look like Barry killed himself. Then his friend Marti found out the truth. I don't think the author could have done anything to make this book better. Except she could have made less people who wanted to write about his death. I would recommend this for other people. Like people who like to read good mysteries.

The book I was reading is called Secret, Silent Screams. The main character is Marti. She is a girl who has many friends, and she is a senior at her school. Marti¿s best friend, Barry got murdered and she is trying to solve the mystery of who murdered him. Everyone thinks that he killed himself but Marti doesn¿t think so. This book reminded me of Murder, My Sweet, a book by the same author of Secret, Silent Screams by Joan Lowery Nixon. Secret, Silent Screams wasn¿t the best book I¿ve ever read but it was really scary and every part of it made you want to jump out of your seat. You just wanted to keep reading and never stop.

Wow! this book was awesome! i mean it was more than i expected. I did however feel it had a bit of un real information in it. Most people at my school arent even aware of the gang groups because there are hardly any. but overall the book was great!

I love reading mysteries and this was pretty interesting, I read it in 2 days. I will admit that it is one of those books that you cant put down. I pretty much knew who the murder was when they first mentioned him/her but thats just because I rule out the people who they think is the murder. anyhoo read this book, it rox!

I really enjoy 'scary' books but i have to admitt that most of nixon's books are kind of cheesy. The endings are kind of rushed and they are slow but i thought this book was good. if you want some really good reading try sweet valley university thriller's and also sweet valley high senior year are awesome books!
