Indy Savage, cop's daughter, rock chick and used bookstore owner, has been in love with Lee Nightingale, once bad boy, now the man behind Nightingale Investigations, since she was five years old. No matter what ingenious schemes Indy used to capture his attention, Lee never showed an interest and Indy finally gave up. Now Indy's employee, Rosie, has lost a bag of diamonds and bad guys are shooting at him. When Indy gets involved, Lee is forced to help. Complicting matters, Lee has decided he's interested, Indy's decided she's not. But she can't seem to keep Lee out of her life when she's repeatedly stun gunned, kidnapped and there are car bombs exploding (not to mention she's finding dead bodies).

Indy's best bet is to solve the mystery of the diamonds before Lee. Lee's challenge is to keep Indy alive and, at the same time, win back her heart.

About the Author

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched). Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

This was Ashley's first of a series, and set me up to want to read all of the rest of them right away. The Rock Chicks are the girls we all want to be. Their friends are the kind of friends we all want, and most of all, the men are the men we dream about. Besides all that, there's some great action and suspense to keep you turning pages. If this was Ashley's first published book, I want to read what's coming next. 5 stars!

Have you ever read a book (or a series of books) and wished the characters were your friends in real life? Or have you gotten to the last page and just started back at page one because you didn’t want the story to end? Kristen Ashley’s “Rock Chick” world is a place that I wish I could live in and be a part of as the characters and the stories are so amazing and entertaining that you want the story to go on forever. I started with Rock Chick and then went on to Rescue, Redemption, Renegade, Revenge, Reckoning, Regret, Revolution, and then finished with Redux (a FREE novella on the author’s website). The books are well written with humor, sexy guys, exciting stories, and page turning action. They range from 400 plus to well over a 1000 plus pages on my Nook and each story could be read as a stand-alone. However, each subsequent book carries the story of the previous couple even further. I am so impressed with this series that I have ordered the books in paperback so as to have them available in case my Nook has a nuclear meltdown! They will definitely have a permanent place on my bookshelf.

This book had everything. There was mystery as to who actually has the diamonds. There was a love lost story, she had loved him for so many years, and he just pushed her away. You had drag queens and rock and roll. There was cars exploding and people getting shot, blown up and handcuffed. And finally a creepy stalker mob guy that won't catch a clue. I loved this story. There was action and adventure and a great love story all wrapped up in one little pink package.

Love everything KA does !!! I'm a fan for life

I thought the author could finished the story in 400 pages not drag it to 900 pages. I was getting a little angry with Indy never listening and doing the complete opposite of what her boyfriend had asked. I did however, found myself laughing out loud on several occasions.

I loved this series! I read ALL 7 books in 2 weeks (yes, while working 50 hrs a week... but no kids)!! I couldn't put them down & I'm sad there are no more! The women are funny, the guys are hot. There are a lot of similarities in the characters, but the stories are very good. They kept me wanting more!! I laughed out loud many times!

I have read all of Kristen Ashley’s books out of order. I started with the Colorado Mountain series, first book of Unfinished Hero, then all of the Dream Man, finished the Unfinished Hero series, and then started on Rock Chick. All I can say is it is about time that I finally get to know about Lee, who is a character in most of the above series but I never knew him. Now I know him and now I love him even more. Lee is extremely sexy with his alpha male mentality and such an awesome character. He runs his own PI business (that employs sexy men…bonus for us readers) and secretly harbors a crush for Indy. This to me was the cutest thing ever because based on the actions that Indy has taken in the past to seduce Lee, he has always shut her down because she was too young at the time. However, when Indy gets herself into a little danger, Lee does not mess around and goes full force with his feelings of love and protectiveness towards her. I could see KA’s personality coming out in this book based on the absolute crazy (but funny) situations Indy put herself into. The bar scene just made me laugh because instead of staying in the care like Lee tells her to, Indy gets out and gets involved in a bar fight. ~BookWhisperer Reviewer MC~

This is the first book in a VERY FUN series…love getting lost in the world of crazy rock chicks and HOT Denver alpha males. I laugh out loud a lot and my husband looks at me like I am crazy… Highly recommend this whole series!

I waited to review the series until I had real all of the books (except for Ally's -I am on pins and needles waiting for the last story) and I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed by the series. They are fun stories that take more than one sitting to get through. The first novel about Indy and Lee I have to admit was not my favorite. I had some trouble getting past him jerking off for so long before he went after her; this didn't match up with his whole 'I am alpha male, do what I say' attitude. I would have given this one 3 stars except for one thing: this stoy is where I met the love of my life. Tex. Tex. Tex. I cannot get over how much I love this character; he is odd and crochety and sweet and tough and a cat lover. This is the man of my dreams and with each RC novel I fell in love with him even more. I wish I had my own Tex.

Kristen Ashley is becoming one of my favorite authors. Her books are long (900+pges) with action, love, and full of hot men! Also a major plus is that if you go to her site you can read several chapters before you purchase the book. But warning once you read those chapters there is no way you can go without buying the book. ;-)

Who knew a kidnaping could be funny! This is my first book by Kristen Ashley and it will not be the last. I loved so much about it I’m not sure where to start. Liam “Lee” Nightingale is one hot and sexy totally alpha man who grew up with India “Indy” Savage a free spirit, fly by the set of her pants beautiful girl. The awesome banter between Lee and Indy and the way Indy’s mind works is hilarious. All throughout the book I thought, I want to be friends with Indy and get my hands on Lee. There’s so much I want to say about this book but it’s would totally spoil it for everyone. So read this book and find out for yourself. I hope you have some free time ahead because your going to need it, there’s many books in this series so I’m on to the next one.

This is the book that made me become obsessed with Kristen Ashley's writing. I never re-read books but this is my second time reading this book and I plan on re-reading the entire series. I think a movie or TV show should be made!

This book was funny and exciting for a while but it got old fast after hearing all the details again and again. Say the detail once and most readers have it! (Just letting you know). Loved the characters but again the same dialogue was repeated way too many times between the same characters. I never thought I see the day were I said any book could be shorter, but this one could and I would have enjoyed it just as much (maybe even more!).

This one of of my first books I've read from Kristen Ashley, and I have to say if all of them are like this I can't wait for the rest! India "Indy" Savage is the main "rock chick" in this story. She's the daughter of a widowed cop and owns a used book store. Indy and her best friend Ally Nightingale have been in cahoots to get her married off to Lee, Ally's older brother and Indy's love. She's a quirky woman by herself, but with her best friend, their antics are just too funny. When Indy gets caught in the middle of some shady business involving her barista, the only person who can help her is the one she's been avoiding for the last decade; Lee Nightingale. I really did love this book. Lee is just the right amount of alpha to make you fall in love with him, but he knows he can't love Indy and expect her to change her ways. Indy is so funny and the situations she gets herself caught up in, you can't help but laugh out loud
