Ready, Set, Find Christmas is an adorable board book designed especially for the preschool set. The story is compiled from the account of Mary and Joseph traveling to Bethlehem and the events leading up to the birth of Christ and shortly after found in Luke 2:1-16 and Matthew 2:1-12. The story is brief so young attention spans will be able to sit for the whole tale. What I really like is how the book incorporates interactive seek and find on each of the pages. Each time we have read through the book my grandson has enthusiastically said, "Again! Again!" You would think that it would almost be a one time thing but apparently not. In fact he just beams with pleasure as he's able to quickly point to each object. If you have a preschooler in your home I would recommend this cute board book for your Christmas story times. It is sturdy, colorful, short, and interactive, all the things that make reading a book to a wiggly little one a pleasure. I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.
This book arrived on our doorstep this week and has already become a favorite! Read, Set, Find Christmas is the perfect Christmas book for little readers. It has a great amount of objects to find on each page, has sweet illustrations and is a board book so it can be easily handled by little hands. My three year old really enjoyed reading the book and I appreciated the bible verses noted throughout. If I'm being picky, I'd say that I wish the objects to find were the same size on the list as they are in the picture, some objects are also half hidden so you can only see them peeking out from behind other things, there are often several sheep to find or several mice instead of just one and the colors are a little different from the list side to the picture side. My toddler didn't notice any of those things, but I wanted to be sure to point them out. We enjoyed reading this Christmas book together and will definitely be reading it many more times.
