Overview

Re-released in a second edition with new content.

The town of Bliss, Colorado, offered Hope McLean a second chance at life, a gift she cherishes every day. Her past was dominated by dark secrets and regret, most of which centered on a man named Christian Grady. All of that was behind her now, years of horror distilled down into the occasional nightmare or a random feeling of being watched. Surrounded by new friends, she tried hard to leave the past where it belonged—in the rearview mirror.

Raised together, James Glen and Noah Bennett were the best of friends. They dreamed of growing up in Bliss, finding love, and settling down to share their lives on the Circle G ranch. James would manage the day-to-day operations of the ranch while Noah served the town as the resident veterinarian. Everything was perfectly planned out, until a woman came between them and their future shattered. Noah left Bliss for New York City and James was left to struggle to keep the Circle G alive on his own.

Noah returns to Bliss on a mission to rebuild his life. When he sees Hope, he knows his return home was meant to be. Hope's kindness shines like a beacon calling him to her. Unfortunately, he isn't the only man interested in Hope. James is also interested in the beautiful girl with a mysterious past. He can't be forced to choose between the woman of his dreams and his best friend again.

As romance begins to bloom, a dark specter from Hope's past returns to claim her. To save Hope, and themselves, James and Noah will have to rebuild the relationship they lost and fight for their future with Hope together.

It was great to revisit Bliss because you get to see glimpses of previous characters and catch up on their lives. I love the quirkiness of the characters who call Bliss home and I cannot wait to see what happens next in Bliss. Danger is again heading to Bliss and this time it will be Hope McLean who is in danger from her psychotic past and it will be up to James (Jamie) Glen and the man raised as his brother, Noah Bennett to protect her. We have seen glimpses of Jamie in several previous books and I just knew that there was more to him than just his man-whoring ways. What I hadn’t realized until now was how much Noah leaving him and their ranch, had affected him and felt like such a betrayal and loss. Jamie doesn’t believe that he has anything to offer Hope and it is not until Noah returns to town and shows interest that he is forced to make his move. The resentment and tension between Jamie and Noah is palpable whilst reading this book and although Hope does her best to mediate, as do other characters, it is obvious that there is going to be an explosion of emotions. Can Jamie and Noah come to terms with the past and put aside their differences and in doing so create the future with Hope that they have longer for? Will Hope feel that she can open up to Jamie and Noah and tell them about her horrific past and struggles, or will it destroy her before they get the happiness that they deserve? One click and find out.

I loved this book. Is it just me or are these stories getting better and better? We are getting sweet Holly's story now. Who knew Holly could be so bad? Well, I guess not bad but more naive, when she was a teenager. But that does mean she should have to die for it. Thank goodness she has back up that wants to love and protect her. James Glen and Noah Bennett have been friends if not brothers their whole lives. When all hell breaks loose years before between James and Noah, Noah leaves everyone behind for "love". But when Noah comes back years later things do not go as smooth as you would think. BUT they both want Holly. Can Holly be the one to bring the brothers together, or totally break them apart?

Completely addicted to Bliss. The prodigal son comes home, but can his brother and the town forgive him for leaving. After his brother Noah left, James almost lost everything. He had to get a partner in order for his ranch to survive. Now his brother thinks he can just waltz back in and take the his woman. Well she doesn't know she's his woman yet, because James doesn't feel whole on his own. But still. Noah left once, so he'll probably disappear again. Hope has been dreaming of James since she came to Bliss over a year ago. Then she meets his brother and she wants him too. But her past has come back to haunt her and she knows she should run. She's been running since she was 17. The first time she felt safe, it was an illusion and her savior was really a monster. In Pure Bliss James, Noah and Hope will have to fight for what they truly want, a real home and a real family.

I wasn't a big fan of James most of the time. He was just kind of a jerk. I think I had a harder time believing them in a MFM relationship because they seemed to fight all the time. However, I did like Noah and Hope. I also liked the added danger that Hope's past brought so that helped me overcome my issues with James. Hope dealing with her former addiction added some depth to her story. You see these characters as flawed people trying to redeem themselves and that makes them more relatable.

Pure Bliss bxy Lexi Blake aka Sophie Oaks is book six in her Nights in Colorado series. Every book in this series, while interconnected, is about another couple and can be read as standalone. This is Hope, James and Noah's story. All three are a bit battered from their pasts. All of them made mistakes that are about to haunt them in the future. James and Noah are brothers, not by blood, but by family they had a major showdown a gfew years ago, Noah left, he left James behind and James had to scarp and pull everything to keep the ranch going. Hope had an entirely other past, no spoiler here, only so much it's about to show up on their doorstep and threaten their future. Pure Bliss is a beautiful second chance romance, set in unconventional Pliss Colorady where the grass is greener and the couples are more than two people. The writing is great and the characters are very lovable. Next is Chasing Bliss, Jess, Cade and ?. I can't wait.

3.75stars-PURE BLISS is the sixth instalment in Sophie Oak’s (aka Lexi Blake) contemporary, adult NIGHTS IN BLISS, COLORADO erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women of Bliss, Colorado. This is rancher James Glen, veterinarian Noah Bennett, and Hope McLean’s story line. PURE BLISS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information form the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. NOTE: PURE BLISS was originally released in March 2012 but re-release with additional content. WARNING: PURE BLISS and the Nights in Bliss, Colorado focuses on ménage relationships with lights scenes of discipline and bondage. Told from several third person perspectives including James, Noah and Hope PURE BLISS follows the building relationship between estranged step-brothers Noah Bennett and James Glen, and the woman they love Hope McLean. Five years earlier Noah walked away from Bliss, Colorado against his brother’s warnings, to follow the woman he thought he loved. Fast forward to present day wherein Noah will return home, tail tucked between his legs, to discover that James has struggled to keep the family ranch afloat, as he as battled his attraction to the sheriff’s PA Hope McLean. With Noah’s return to Bliss, James has competition as it pertains his need and desire for Hope McLean, a need and desire matched by the ‘brother’ he is unable to forgive. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Hope, and James and Noah, and the potential fall-out as Hope’s past comes seeking revenge. Hope McLean has been on the run, barely staying one step ahead of a man who is hoping to destroy her life. Witnessing the devastation of murder and fraud, Hope finds solace in Bliss, Colorado only to face rejection at the hands of the man with whom she will fall in love. Not until Noah Bennett, the prodigal son, returns home to the ranch and step-brother he so desperately loves does James face the truth about what was and what will be. The relationship between Hope, and James and Noah is one of immediate attraction but James’ earlier rejection of Hope pushes our heroine into Noah’s arms. Hope battles her attraction to the warring ‘brothers’ , an attraction that pits brother against brother for her love and attention. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word I find unnecessary in a romance story line. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line couples. NIGHTS IN BLISS, COLORADO is a series of plural relationships and marriages in the small town of Bliss, Colorado where multiple partners and ménages are accepted and preferred. PURE BLISS is a story of family, love, loss and betrayal. The premise is engaging and captivating; the romance is passionate and captivating; the characters are charismatic, sassy and strong.

This story, these three, their lingering despair, it brings the tears. But, when they finally figure everything out, it makes it all the more joyous! Hope and James have been dancing around each other since she came to town. She put herself out there, and he ran away. Once his long lost brother returns to town, and sets his eyes on Hope, Noah isn’t turning her down at all. Of course, her past is right there, causing her to be ready to bolt at any time. Noah already ran away once before, and he doesn’t want to cause James any more pain by sticking around this time. James is staying put, but it seems like everyone just moves on and leaves him behind. Better to hide yourself away than open yourself up to feelings The emotional side of this story packs a punch. The chemistry is off the charts hot. And there are a few laughing moments as well, after all, it is Bliss. And we get that glimpse into Henry’s alpha-obsessive, dark side, that couldn’t be any sexier *sigh

As we know all too well, Bliss has a way of attracted the most unusual characters to town. Get ready to visit Bliss, the place where unconventional relationships are the norm. In this rerelease from Lexi Blake, fans of the series will be privy to the life of James and Noah. Both come from an unconventional home life, and now find themselves facing mistakes of the past. How will they overcome their differences when they find the woman that both believe completes them? This romance novel dives into all those MFM fantasies that we have come to expect from the residents of Bliss. The beginning of this book was a tad on the slow side, and the classic pull from previous books in the series seemed a bit lacking. That doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy diving into the lives of James, Noah and Hope! The trifecta did heat things up when they came together. While this was not my favorite book in the series…..it is always a pleasure to return to the town of Bliss.

I wasn't a huge fan of Noah's for quite a few chapters of this book. The idea that he could simply turn his back on his stepbrother--someone he considered his best friend--and their ailing father AND Bliss as a whole who expected him to take over as the town vet simply to run off with some woman spoke of his selfishness. Yes, I get it: he reveled in the idea that this woman chose him over James, but ugh, talk about priorities, especially because of the events leading up to Noah's abandonment. He does redeem himself later on, but I had to get over the fact that he also decided to go after Hope, whom James's also wanted. These two spent a whole lot of time acting like little boys fighting over a new toy, but there was clearly a whole lot more to the sibling rivalry than meets the eye. As for Hope, there were times where she waffled quite a bit on what to do with herself, but while she could be seen as someone who would tear the stepbrothers even further apart, she ultimately became the one person who could bring them together...if only they could actually get their acts together! Men! Gah! I'm giving Pure Bliss four stars. ♥
