Book one in the sexy and intense new White Lies duet by Lisa Renee Jones!

There are those moments in life that are provocative in their very existences, that embed in our minds forever, and sometimes our very souls. They change us, mold us, maybe even save us. But some are darker, dangerous. If we allow them to, they control us. Seduce us. Quite possibly even destroy us.

The moment I walked into Sonoma's Reid Winter Winery and Vineyard and made eye contact with Faith Winter for the first time was one of those moments. Provocative because I know at least one of her secrets, of which, I suspect she has many. Provocative because she believes I was a stranger to her when we met, but I am not. Provocative because I sought her out, with no intention of touching her. But now I have. Now I want her. Now I have to have her. But that changes nothing. It doesn't change why I came for her.

Book two: Shameless will be out on July 11th!

Secrets and lies to cover those secrets - that seems to be a constant thread in a book from Lisa Renee Jones, and when you add in some compelling characters and sexual tension that is off the chain hot – and you get Provocative. Tangentially connected to the Inside Out Series, in that our heroine Faith is an artist and known (and promoted quietly) by Chris Merit, the story plays with her desire / need to paint and her struggles to keep her family vineyard afloat after her father’s death, her mother’s mismanagement and subsequent death and her lack of available cash. Enter Nick, an attorney with a reputation that precedes him into every interaction, the body-.language and approach of a Tiger stalking his prey, and a deep desire to discover every one of Faith’s secrets, and just why she was responsible for his own father’s death. From the start, the cat and mouse games in this story are strong: and it’s actually refreshing to see that the aggressor is ostensibly Nick, but Faith does step up (and in) to assert her own control – giving their interplay and banter a wonderful push and pull, despite all of the underlying currents between them. From Faith’s agent who has his own set of issues (including being the best friend of her ex) to the conflicting decisions from Nick as he struggles with the seeming lack of Faith’s involvement in a situation he is convinced was directly responsible for his father’s death, the bill collectors and a bank pushing to foreclose on the winery – the elements twist around one another like a Gordian Knot, each revelation brings another question or three while only answering part of one. Clearly breaking with plenty of unanswered questions, the story captivates and provides plenty of conjecture, even as every earlier moment where you think you know – you didn’t. Riding the knife edge of tension, the unacknowledged emotions and the revelations that Nick searched her out (without telling her exactly why) should have readers finding him difficult, but his determination to keep her close and protected, even as he struggles with his own initial desire to discover her involvement in the death of his father make him a rather tortured but ultimately honorable man, despite the lies. A touch of the familiar in terms of progression and story unfolding, with plenty of hot steamy sex to bring the emotional tension and self-reflection to a head, the story isn’t wholly different from other and longer series that Jones has created, but an excellent example that will keep you on the edge of your seat, questioning, wondering and reaching for a cold drink. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

At first I thought it started out a little slow, but then when I realized that one of the characters was from the Inside Out Series I was intrigued. The mystery that surrounds both Nick and Faith's parents is a good mystery under the budding love story. Now if a couple of the Walker Brothers were to show up in the second book... ah a girl can dream!

It was ok as the initial connection was good, but went off somewhere along the line for me. I don't know what I thought it was going to be, but wanted much more, but maybe book 2 solving the murders and lies will do it. Both characters damaged from a parent. One parent showed love and the other indifference. With Nick, his quick obsession with her wasn't realistic after using women for sex. So much of his story to be back filled in from his dad, sex club and initial belief that she is a killer. Faith, her use of sex not to feel and her beliefs about her art, and how her dad could still love her mother with all of her affairs drives her actions. Looking forward to book 2 clearing up all of the missing pieces and how they both got to be such successes but really messed up individuals who found each other.

Provocative was just an ok read for me. I finished it but it was a struggle at times. And then to realize I still don't know how the story ends. I feel there was a lot of repetitiveness- maybe another edit was needed. The book dragged in places. With all that being said the mystery was interesting. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I admit I had high expectations going into this one based on all the buzz and reading the first two chapters when the book was first announced. It had all the ingredients for a page turner I'd love. And for the most part, I was kept guessing but I never really connected to Faith or Nick. Their chemistry was strong but I didn't have a sense of what makes them tick. Faith, for instance, has changed her entire life to save the winery, putting her career as an artist to the side all because of her deceased dad's dream. So I'm thinking she must have had a good, close relationship with her dad, only to find out he never supported her dreams as an artist. I want to know more about that and why Faith would sacrifice her dreams for someone who didn't support her and who turned a blind eye to her mother's horrible behavior. And maybe we'll get that in book 2 but I wanted it now so I wouldn't feel disconnected from the main characters. I'm definitely curious about how the story will resolve- the mystery is a good one and I have no idea how everything might be connected- so I plan on reading the follow up. Disclosure: I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have read everything Lisa Renee Jones has written and she has never ever sent me reeling as much as Provacative has. Provacative is book 1 of a two book series entitled White Lies. The interaction between the main characters, Nick "Tiger" is like being there, listening to their conversations and feeling all the things they were feeling at the time they happened!

This is a great book; this is the first book in the White Lies Duet series written by Lisa Renee Jones. This book is another winner and grabs you from the beginning all the way until the end. It will leave you hanging on until the next book and leave you wishing you could get your hands on the second book already. I am happy we don’t have long to wait for the next book which should be released in July. Faith Winter is an artist who inherited her family’s winery after her father’s death. Nick is a successful corporate attorney. When Nick first made eye contact with Faith he felt the attraction. Faith, but they both have secrets. They have to learn to trust each other with their secrets before they can find closure. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. 4.5 stars--PROVOCATIVE is the first instalment in Lisa Renee Jones's contemporary, adult WHITE LIES erotic, romantic suspense duet focusing on attorney Nick (Tiger) Rogers, and artist/ winery owner Faith Winter. NOTE: There is a slight cross-over between Lisa's WHITE LIES series and her INSIDE OUT SERIES including several appearances by Sara and Chris Merit, Rebecca's lost journals, and the connection to our story line hero. Told from dual first person perspectives (Nick and Faith) PROVOCATIVE focuses on Nick Rogers search for the truth. Nick and Faith are strangers, never having met one another before Reid Winter Winery and Vineyard open house, but connected to one another through secrets, lies and a past shrouded in betrayal, mystery, and possible scandal. What ensues are Nick's seduction of a woman he hopes to destroy, and Faith's battle to keep the creditors from foreclosing on her family's winery and vineyard. Lisa Renee Jones weaves a tale of mystery, suspense, betrayal and the search for the truth. Nick Rogers is out to prove that Faith is no innocent bystander in a series of events that unfolded months before but Faith's innocence or guilt is protected by a lack of information both to our leading hero and the reader, as well. The slow build up of clues, messages and research forces Nick Rogers to dig a little deeper in the hopes of revealing the truth-one way or another. In the end, Nick wants to believe that the woman with whom he is falling in love, is not the woman he suspects of horrendous crimes against two families drawn together by power and greed. The premise is dramatic, tense and startling; the characters are colorful, determined and energetic; the romance is seductive, provocative, and has the potential for emotional heartbreak and pain. Lisa Renee Jones's PROVOCATIVE will captivate and fascinate; seduce and draw you into a story of mystery, suspense and revenge.

What an appropriate title for this series! From page one I was sucked in and trying to figure out what's about to happen. I love that about this author. She gives you little crumbs to lead you on a merry chase to the truth. I have so many questions! Is the secret Faith is hiding have anything to do with the suspected murders? Or is she completely innocent? Is her agent involved? Her ex? Why is the bank hell bent on taking the winery away from her. The list of questions is long and I love it! There is so much mystery and intrigue, you will not be bored. This also ends on a cliffhanger that is gearing up for something big, not only with the suspected murders but also between Nick and Faith. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Oh Em Gee! This was so good, it was wicked good! Full of sexy, intense, betrayal, lies, murder?, and lots of twists and turns and enough to keep us guessing at what is really happening. Faith Winter is struggling to keep her winery from going under when in walks Nick Rogers, AKA Tiger, with an agenda of his own. Is he her savior or a devil in disguise? Now the hard part is having to wait for the conclusion in part 2! **Received an ARC for review**

Exquisitely Provocative! When a book by Lisa Renee Jones lands in my hot hands, I shut out the world and the story becomes my world. I devour yet savor, every words that lead me into a world full of suspense, betrayal, danger, intriguing passion and pleasure. I hold on as I swiftly succumbed to this story that leaves me reeling with anxiety, adrenaline coursing through my veins, and slowly and surely it seduces me and although it just began I don't ever want it to end. Nick Rogers is out to destroy Faith Winter, but after meeting her, he is not only intrigued, he is aroused by this woman. She gets to him when no one gets to him. But Faith is also aroused by this arrogant, adversarial, and sexual man. Their connection is dark, jagged and undeniable. Creating and awakening a sizzling chemistry between them. Will Nick get to the bottom of this mystery alive? Will Faith be able to save the winery? Anxiously waiting to read the second and final book of this series. Highly Recommended! I received a copy from the author and readily wrote an honest review.
