Except he's avoiding me at all costs.

But I'm not going to let Aiden McHugh get away. He might be the hottest quarterback in the NFL and my older brother's best friend, but he doesn't intimidate me. He promised to help me and I'm holding him it... even if it means I have to convince him one seduction at a time.

Until the seduced becomes the seducer.
I no longer want to get over my ex; I just want Aiden.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I LOVED this story. This is one of those stories where I begged the author to write it because I fell in love with Layton and Aidan in the previous book. You never know, will it live up to your imagination and it so did!!! It starts in the middle of the previous book and while it does I also think that makes it stand alone as well. Thought I recommend you start with the first book so you really get to know Layton and Aidan. It tells the backstory on Layton and Aidan's relationship and introduces Layton's brother Kingston. You see Aidan is Kingston's best friend and so Layton is Aidan's best friends little sister and so that is really the issue between the two. Also there is Layon's plans from when she is very little on who her future husband will be. Anyways as we know from the previous book Layton discovers on her honeymoon she married the wrong guy. And well she has a lot of fun after torturing Aidan. And well Aiden and Layton make some magic in this book. I really don't want to spoil anything but I LOVED this book. It was fun, sweet, romantic, broke my heart at a few points but might be the best book the author has ever written. Definitely one you do not want to miss!

Gimme books... The more I have the more I want... It's a vicious cycle that I can't, and won't, get out of. When an author that I've read previous books has a new one coming out I'm on the front row cheering and waiting for it. Marquita Valentine is the one today. Her previous books made me smile, cry, curse and so much more and I can't get enough. Her writting is sassy, strong, funny, sexy and Dayum... Hot as hell too. Sideline is her latest release and tells the stories of Layton and Aiden. Layton had her heart broken on her honeymoon when her husband betrayed her and runaway with the wedding planer. She had her life planned out since she was a kid and in one night everything went down. Trying to get up on her feet she seeks Aiden, her brothers best friend in hope he can help her. Aiden is a well known NFL player. He's very committed to his career and has an very peculiar rule during a football season... Wanna know what that rule is?? No sex. Seriously... No sex? When his best friend's little sister knocks at his door let's just say he wasn't expecting to find a woman... Amazing like I knew it would be. This book was fun, sexy and so sweet. Of course that we will have some unfaithful people but life is like that. No one can say that he or she is living on cloud nine because sometimes rain will fall. The plot is amazing, very well written, fast paced and super engaging. The interation between the characters is beautiful and you can see the way they adore each other, even if they try to deny it. Of course that we are presented with some hot stuff as well but the feeling behind each chapter was what make me devour this book in no time. Oh Marquita you've done it again. You've made me so in love with this book that I really need to read book 1, and I want more. When will we get more? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

I loved this book! I had a book hangover because I just couldn't put it down. One of my favorite things about this book is the humor. I laughed quite often while reading it. My absolute favorite scene is the prologue. It set up for the great story to come. This book also has a sad moment for Layton. Life is knocking her down, but with a guy like Aiden in your corner you won't be down long. I also enjoyed seeing Dallas and Paige from Scored. Aiden may come off a little bit on the jerk side in the beginning, but hang in there because he's prime book boyfriend material. I can't recommend this book enough!

*** Melting *** Aiden... oh sweet Aiden... I LOVED him. He was crass, he didn't give a crap, but deep down all he wanted was the girl of his dreams. Sidelined by Marquita Valentine was a sweet, cute read with low angst. Like I said I freaking LOVE Aiden. He was a fabulous character (and HOT). Layton... I liked her as well. although she needed to kick Joe to the curb. What a jerk! Layton and Aiden have known each other for many years (since she was 11 and he was 19). Layton looked up to Aiden and trusted him to help her out. Aiden, (who has been in love with Layton for a while) would do anything for her, even let her marry another man so that she can have her happily ever after (

I loved this story, it was just so warm and light-hearted, even if it did have a little bit of drama. It was cute and funny, with a big hearted hero and a sassy heroine. Aiden McHugh is the star quarterback for the Raleigh Renegades, he’s known Layton Tallulah Price since she was 11 years old, when her big brother and his best friend brought him home for the holidays. Cute as she was then, L.T as Aiden called her, somehow got under his skin, and he did promise to marry her if her big fairytale romance fell through. Aiden didn’t realize how much he’d fallen for L.T until she was much older, and engaged to her long time boyfriend, Joe. He’d lost his chance, now he’d have to suffer in silence. But, the marriage of the year, barely lasted four days before Joe changed his mind, and left L.T. Well, she left him. LOL. I loved that part. Not, the deceit, but how Layton dealt with it. She wants to get back at Joe, by having a mindless fling. Nothing serious. Maybe Aiden can help a girl out? Aiden wants Layton, but he wants her, all or nothing, not just a throw away sexcapade to rub in Joe’s face. Plus, it’s football season and he has a rule. One he can’t break. But once the Superbowl in done and dusted, LT better watch out. This was a fantastic quick sports/ friends to lovers romance. I loved meeting up with Dallas and Paige from Scored. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for the next in the series. Kingston’s story, Nailed.

Love has a way of knocking you flat before it lifts you up. Marquita Valentine has an innate talent for merging the good with the bad and keeping you laughing as she's breaking your heart. Sidelined is one woman's quest to heal her broken heart in the most wicked way possible. He helped break her heart, perhaps he can help put it back together again. Aiden and Layton can be each other's worst nightmares, but behind the bickering, the frustration and the mistrust, there is a deep love. Sidelined is a little slice of heaven presented in a temptingly, heartwarming package.
