Overview

Middle-aged bookstore owner Willa Chance is often haunted by ghosts who want her to do their bidding. Usually it involves the nasty business of bringing their killer to justice, so when the ghost of Adelaide Hamilton asks her to find an old recipe book and give it to Elspeth Whipple, it seems like an easy job. Except Willa's search for the book has her crossing the path of Sheriff Eddie Striker one too many times for comfort. He's acting almost as if he's investigating a murder, but Adelaide died of natural causes. Didn't she? When it turns out Adelaide's entire family had means, motive, opportunity, Willa's search becomes dangerous, and she finds herself matching wits with a cold-blooded killer that wants the same thing she does. Luckily, Willa's cat Pandora is looking out for her and enlists the aid of the other cats of Mystic Notch. who will stop at nothing to ensure Willa's safety as well as the recovery of the book ... even if it takes a little bit of magic.

EBook challenge Craving for Cozies challenge Cosy mystery Read 5/8/16 "My grandmother's words to believe in magic came back to me. Did magic really exist?" Pandora and her human are at it again and this time, according to Obsidian and Inkspot, the entire existance of Mystic Notch New Hampshire might hang in the balance! According to yet another ghost who has appeared at the bookstore, an old book of recipes has gone missing and if Willa Chance doesn't get it into Elspeth's hands, Willa might be stuck with yet another ghost to placate. Maybe it's the bookstore, maybe its the family gift, but all these spirits in limbo seem to land at the bookstore because they seem to know that they can find the answers there.... Too bad they don't speak cat

This is the newest book in the Mystic Notch series. It continues the story of Willa Chance. Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I totally love it and the entire series. Each book is its own story but it is best if you start with book one. I can't wait for the next book!

Characters who can talk with ghosts. A town with magical guardian cats. Good and evil practitioners of the magical arts. How much more do you want for an entertaining read?

Loved the book, but I do find the characters juvenile. Hope the series continues so that I may see them develop.
