There was a princess named Diana, who was very vain. She thought she was the most beautiful girl in the world.
Princess Diana's father, the king, and her mother, the queen, came to tell her that they were going to throw a big ball. Princess Diana was so excited because she thought she would be the most beautiful girl there.
Princess Diana dressed in her most beautiful gown for the big ball. But when she arrived, she saw many beautiful girls in gorgeous gowns, and she became jealous. So Princess Diana set out to find a way to become the most beautiful girl in the world.
Princess Diana ran away crying and then bumped into an old lady with her pet Quackadee. Princess Diana yelled at the old lady, "Get out of my way, you ugly woman!"
The old lady said, "Why so sad, Princess?" Through her tears the princess replied, "I thought I was the most beautiful girl in the world, but I am not!"
"If it's true beauty you seek, I know of a magic light beam at the top of the castle that will turn you into what you truly are on the inside," said the old lady.
The princess smiled with delight and turned away to search for the magic light beam. As she ran away, the old lady shouted, "Remember it's what's on the inside that's important!" The princess ignored the old lady and ran off.
