Dear Readers:

Thank you for loving the small town of Serendipity. Because of you, I’m able to continue what I started…and introduce you to Serendipity’s Finest—the cops of Serendipity…

Best wishes, Carly

In the picturesque town of Serendipity, New York, three siblings have grown up in the shadow of their proud and respected police chief father. But what do love, fate, and fortune have in store for the next generation of Serendipity’s finest?

Assistant D.A. Erin Marsden is Serendipity’s quintessential good girl. The daughter of the ex–police chief, she’s never made a misstep, content with her quiet, predictable life...or so she thinks. Until Cole Sanders shows up with heated interest in his eyes and shadows in his past.

After seven years of deep undercover work in New York, Cole returns to town to help his aging father and find his moral compass again. Not to get involved with wholesome Erin Marsden. Even as a rebellious teen, he knew a girl like Erin was off limits. But neither can resist their off-the-charts chemistry, and a one-night stand brings complications neither expected.

Then a case puts Erin in a killer’s crosshairs, and Erin succumbs to Cole’s take-charge attitude. As a bodyguard, he’s the best. As a lover, he’s even better. But there’s more than Erin’s safety at stake. And Cole must forgive the sins of his past and prove to himself—and to Erin—that he’s capable of the love and the forever she so desperately needs.

I have read the serendipity's series and I love the characters! The perfect fling wasn't any different I loved the "good girl" persona that  Erin was expected to be and Cole's bad boy attitude, who doesn't love a "bad Boy"! I enjoyed how we continue to read about the  previous characters you continue to be part of their lives and I love that (but it leaves me wanting more!!) Erin and Cole's love story was sweet but I would have loved to have read about their encounter the first night in the bar, I wanted to read more about Erin's "bad girl" side I liked how the book started but I would have loved the had a flashback or something to "that" night. Overall I loved it I  was sad when it ended but I can't wait for Sam's story! Loved it you must read :)

A Perfect Fling is the perfect contemporary romance novel. It includes a seemingly bad boy who is actually a good cop, a lawyer who is cheerful, a surprise pregnancy after the fling, a little scary adventure where the bad boy steps up and protects the girl, family dynamics and resolutions, and of course, the perfect romance. In the ending. You know what I mean. HEA! Not that I want to spoil it for you! Well done Carly. This novel is another winner in the Serendipity series. A light, fast read that I thoroughly enjoyed. This book was provided by the publisher.

WOW!!! Another Great Read!!! I am a big fan of the Carly Phillips. I really enjoy her books. I love the Serendipity series. The way Carly writes makes you feel like you are a part of this community and that the characters are your friends and neighbors. I just love the story of Erin and Cole. Cole has a lot of issues from his past that he has to confront and overcome in this book. Erin is there to help him and support him. The little miracle that is the result of one night helps them both to reevaluate their lives and look at what the future holds for both of them. Throw in someone who is out to get Erin and it makes this book even better. This book had a little of everything in it. It will make you laugh, cry and even read faster because of the suspense of some of the scenes. When I got this book, I could not put it down. I was just going to read a little and the next thing I knew I was done. I am really looking forward to more stories from Serendipity. I would definitely recommend this book to my friends.

I honestly can't remember when I found my first Carly Phillips book, but I know the "Reading with Ripa" segment on Live with Regis and Kelly got me reading her books again. I was lucky enough to get an early copy of Perfect Fling for review thanks to the author and the publishers through NetGalley. I'm pretty sure I say this is my favorite Carly Phillips book ever after each new book, and I'm saying it yet again with Perfect Fling. I loved Cole and Erin as a couple from the moment they first got together. There is something about the men in Serendipity that makes me love each and every one of them, and Cole is no different. Seriously made my book boyfriend list (Dare is still at the top, but Michael and Cole almost knocked him out of the top spot). However, Erin Marsden is my favorite character from this book. I loved how strong she is whether faced with a stalker or possibly raising a baby on her own. I love strong heroines in a book, and Erin is hands-down one of the strongest. I loved the chemistry between Erin and Cole, and especially love how tender and protective they are of one another. Even with their differences, I just felt like Cole and Erin are a perfect couple. I did figure out who was after Erin before it was revealed in the book. The mystery of the stalker gave Cole more opportunity to keep Erin with him to protect her and I really loved how he stepped up to the challenge. I especially loved he was ready to battle both Mike and Sam, Erin's brothers, for the right to take care of the woman he loved. I love each and every visit to Serendipity. I'm already counting down until we get Sam Marsden's book, Perfect Together, February 4, 2014. For more information about the author or her books, check out her website.

4.5 stars. In Carly Phillips’ second Serendipity’s Finest novel, Perfect Fling, we get to meet Erin Marsden, the sister of Mike Marsden, hero of the first book. Erin wakes up the morning after her brother’s wedding with good and bad news. The good news is that she has had an incredible night of hot sex with the man she is in bed next to. The bad news is the man is Cole Sanders, town bad boy and a man hated by both of her brothers. She gets out after a short conversation and three months later her bad luck multiplies when she discovers she is pregnant. Cole is in town taking time off from his latest uncover assignment ( which nobody knows about) when Erin gets shot in the parking lot of the DA’s office where she works and Cole overhears the doctor mention her pregnancy. Yes, this is a tried and true romance theme, but it is really well done in this book. Cole has issues with his abusive father and doesn’t consider himself a good bet as a father. He lets Erin know he will support his child but she shouldn’t expect life with a white picket fence, a dog and him as a fully involved husband and dad. He ends up staying with Erin after the shooting and the two of them become more and more involved. What I liked about this book was that both characters were brutally honest with each other about their expectations and lack of interest in a marriage of convenience. Of course, that changes as they have a fairly combustible sexual relationship and they talk to each other about their concerns and goals in life which draws them closer together. Erin is sympathetic about Cole’s past without letting him use that as a free pass to have sex without feelings. She holds him accountable. He realizes he is acting like a jerk and takes positive steps to keep Erin in his life. I also felt that the relationships with the supporting characters were very well drawn in this book and added to the story line. There is an excerpt from the next book in the series due out in February 2014 and featuring two characters we meet in Perfect Fling. It looks good- can’t wait to read it!

A great read. When a one night stand with the "bad boy" ends with Serendipity's "sweetheart" pregnant, sparks fly. Enter a shooter and the bad boy turns into the protector. Carly Phillips writes a wonderful love story that is sure to make you wish that you could live in Serendipity.

It is so much fun to return to Serendipity, meet old friends, and get acquainted with new ones. Erin Marsden is tired of always being the dependable daughter and little sister of the town's prominent law enforcement officers. Even her successful law career isn't fulfilling her completely, so when she connects with mysterious Cole Sanders for a what she thinks is one passion-filled interval, sparks fly and the consequences change not only Erin and Cole's lives but also their relationships with family and friends. Carly Phillips weaves a wonderful tale as the reader delves deeper into the lives of these two charismatic characters and their families. Sit down, put your feet up, and welcome to the world of won't regret it!

Carly Phillips does it again by creating real complex characters that touch the reader on many levels. The relationship between Erin and Cole in this latest visit to Serendiptiy is Carly at her best. Relationships are not easy and require understanding, patience, perseverance, humor, and a willingness to fight for them. Thank you Erin, Cole, and Carly for a story that epitomizes the complexity of relationships and the joy of them. Can't wait  for the next book  from Serendipity!

I received an advanced copy of Perfect Fling. I just finished reading it. As I started, I thought Cole, our hero, was going to give Ethan (from Serendipity, first book in the series) a run as my favorite Serendipity Alpha Hero. I still love Ethan, but Cole is just right behind. Erin Mardsen is the sister of Mike and Sam and the Assistant District Attorney of Serendipity. Erin is always the good girl, busy with work and her career. On the night of her brother Mike's wedding to Cara, Erin is feeling lonely and decides she needs to find her a man for a perfect one-night stand. She runs into Cole Sanders, a friend from years ago whom everyone believes to be a bad boy, but Erin always had a soft spot for. Of course one night with Cole just knocks Erin for loop. Soon she finds out she is pregnant, but doesn't want Cole to know right away since he will just be leaving town again soon for his undercover work. After a scary situation, Erin's brothers want her protected so Cole volunteers to be her bodyguard until the danger is gone. Of course, Cole unexpectedly finds out about the pregnancy. Between living with Erin throughout the scary ordeal and her pregnancy, Cole is starting to realize that being away for long periods of time may just not be what he wants to do anymore. Can this loner, bad boy decide that now he wants the happy ending along with the white picket fence? I LOVED this book. I laughed and I cried. I just loved the happy ending. I was sad though to finish the book. I didn't want it to end. Thanks Carly for another great book!

I love the Serendipity series and I love Carly Phillips. I've read everything she's written. In Perfect Fling Erin and Cole were great. Their love won in the end. Erin's best friend Macy was the perfect best friend. Would love to live in Serendipity. Would recommend as a stand lone book as well as with the series. Keep them coming!!!

Perfect Couple... Carly Phillips does it again!!!! This story has it all heat, conflict, fun and most endearing is the sweetness. Cole will still your heart before you know it and you won't mind a bit. I challenge you to read this book and not become Erin and Cole fans by chapter 3!! Read this book--you won't be disappointed.

I've read all the books in this series and this is my favorite yet. I loved the complexity of the characters as they journey to their happily ever after. I also liked reading more about characters that were introduced and found their HEA in earlier books in the series. I can't wait for Carly's next. Get this book you won't be disappointed!

Perfect Fling …a one-night stand and baby makes three.  It is a premise that has been overdone but this time it works.  Erin Marsden is the good girl Assistant DA who wakes up in Cole Sanders’, the requisite bad boy, bed the morning after.  This is the beginning of what will turn out to be one of the best books you will read by this author!  Neither one wanted to pursue the sparks but a threat to Erin’s safety and the pregnancy that brought them together (thank you very much) will make them both take a closer at each other, their respective lives, and a happily ever after in the end is the ultimate prize.

Erin as born and raised in the small town of Serendipity to parents who loved her and brothers who protect her. She's the typical girl next door, with friends and a life she's proud of. She's worked hard and is the Assistant D. A. Everything is going great in her life, until one night feeling lonely and left out she stops at the local bar. Cole is back in town for much needed downtime after a year long undercover assignment doesn't end well. He is still frowned upon by the locals as a troublemaker and doesn't have many friends in the town. Most everyone in town avoid him, thinking his past reputation has followed him into his adult life. When Erin walks into the bar looking lonely and wanting to just relax Cole can't resist her. He asks her to dance and things start to heat up. For Erin waking up after a one-night stand was something she never expected. Their agreement it was a one-night stand, for Cole he can't think it could be anything more. He knows he will be returning back to undercover work that keeps him away from everyone for long periods of a time. Then someone takes a shot at Erin. Her protective police brothers start to try telling her she will be staying with one of them. Erin just wants to go home, so against her brother's wishes they decide that Cole should go home with her and be a bodyguard. How do you live with someone you had a hot one-night stand with and not fall for him? That's Erin dilemma. Cole keeps reminding her he's not good enough for her, and with his job being gone all the time it just wouldn't work. For the first time in life going places with Erin and her family and friends he gets to see what true home life is like. Can he be that person? All his life his father has drilled it in his head that he's no good, and Cole believes him. Erin has her hands full trying to convince him he's not that person, but a caring, loving person. First--- this is Carly Phillips so you know you have to read it\ Second--- it the Serendipity series. Another great book by Carly not to be missed Received an ARC to give an honest review

I loved this story. It is filled with small town people and places which are my favorite kind of stories. This is also part of a series "Serendipity" which is the small town. Erin is an Assistant DA and Cole is an undercover cop working out of NYC. He is in town to help his elderly father, they have a strained relationship but he still feels a sense of responsibility. Erin & Cole run into each other at a bar and have a one-night stand. From the next morning on Cole doesn't treat Erin very well. He wants to make sure she understands that there can not be anything between them. A few months pass and Erin finds out she is pregnant, someone shot her, she is being stalked, etc. Sparks fly through the rest of the book between Erin and Cole. You will have to pick up the book to find out what happens next. You won't be disappointed.

Reviewed by JoAnne Book provided by the publisher for review Review originally posted at Romancing the Book Serendipity is the town we were introduced to last summer by Carly Phillips and she does the town proud when she set the Serendipity’s Finest trilogy there too. This trilogy delves deeper into the Marsden family and is book two and middle child Erin’s story along with Cole’s. This book is just as hot and steamy as all the others and was also a quick read. I kept turning the page because I needed to see what would happen next there were so many subplots. I loved the countdown of Erin’s missteps with Cole. Erin and Cole shouldn’t have had any chemistry due to their differences but that’s what made their pairing so great. They not only connected between the sheets but also when having a conversation or even across the room from one another. Erin helped ground Cole and didn’t shrink from him and Cole showed Erin another side of himself that no one had ever seen before. Of course neither could believe that the other could feel the same and each were ready to walk a few We were reunited with characters from last year’s books and it was nice to see them with a storyline not just there. There were families, friends, laughter, tears, situations, happiness, makeups and reconciliations along with several happily ever afters that I didn’t quite envision the way they happened. There was nice closure and I loved the epilogue and the town. We were also given a taste of the next book due out in February and I can’t wait to read Sam’s story. I look forward to revisiting and hope there will be many more books in the series! Favorite Quote: …She’s mine, he thought, tightening his arms around her. Mine to protect, he amended, knowing the distinction was of the utmost importance in keeping both her safe and giving him the distance he needed to do his job and not hurt her when he left on his next case.

3.5 Stars  Erin Marsden has never set one foot, much less a toe, on the bad side of the line. Being the only daughter of the former police chief, she has maintained her good girl reputation. After leaving her brother’s wedding reception she decides to have a one-night stand with Cole Sanders, who has recently reappeared in town. Cole has many dark secrets concerning his long absence and he hopes to be able to leave town again soon. Things get even more complicated when Erin’s life is in danger and Cole is assigned to protect her. Even though this book is the second in Carly Phillips’ series, it works well as a stand-alone story. Starting with a jam packed beginning, the storyline flows nicely while balancing all of the family dynamics and relationships. There is a lot of suspense as well as romance, however it is quite predictable. Overall for fans of Carly Phillips, readers will enjoy this latest chapter in the world of Serendipity. Notes: The author of this book provided a copy for me to review. This review was originally posted on the Ariesgrl Book Reviews website.
