Outside the Lines: México is an archive memories as well as a platform to bring parts of the experience abroad to the viewer in the United States. It serves as a neutral, non political space for people to share in the events and discoveries from a 31 week adventure in Mexico— a country that shares almost half of our southern border, but remains largely unknown to the majority of U.S. citizens.

Pages of this body of work allow readers to interact with a wide array of topics, such as lessons in the Yucateca Maya language, Spanish vocabulary, illustrations of practices and customs of many Mexican cultural traditions, documentation of native flora and fauna, geographical mapping of many of Mexico's 32 diverse states, snippets of passings in daily routines, culinary spotlights and much more.

Accompanied by the artist's notes and images, the viewer has the opportunity to use the additional information to contextualize the pages literally, or take the reins themselves and enjoy the drawings as crafted quadrants of black-lined shapes to explore the journey through their own lens.
