The New York Times bestselling author of On Dublin Street returns to the bar where it all began with Braden and Joss for a white-hot new novella full of passion and drama.
When he’s not working at the club, Craig Lanaghan looks out for his mother and little sisters. So when it comes to women, all he wants is a good time. But once Rain Alexander walks into his life, there’s no denying that this woman could be worth much more than a one-night stand….
Rain’s lifelong regret is having left her sister Darcy alone years ago with a guardian who turned out to be abusive. So when Darcy’s boyfriend publicly humiliates her in a cruel way, Rain’s overprotective instincts kick in and she follows him to Club 39—where she meets a guy who just might be her perfect match.
The chemistry between Rain and Craig is explosive, but Rain is out for revenge, and refuses to be sidetracked by flirtation. As things between them heat up, she’ll have to make a heartbreaking choice between giving in to the man of her dreams or putting her sister’s happiness first….

This book is VERY short and the story seemed to be hastily written. I have all of the preceding books but this story was uninteresting and had major gaps in time which could have made for a more complete romance

Original Review Link: You all know how I love me some Samantha Young.  I’ve been putting off reading this for a while because it’s the last in the “On Dublin Street” series. Craig is the ultimate ladies man.  Never investing in relationships and always another girl every night–it’s easier that way.  Rain is out for revenge for her little sister.  She carries guilt from their past so feels the need to protect her, especially when she’s been wronged.  When Craig and Rain meet, it’s instant chemistry, but will their differences allow them to tear down their boundaries? Or will other obsticles cross their path that prevent them from following their hearts? This was a short read, being a novella.  I’m kind of surprised Ms. Young decided to end the series with a novella and not a full fledged novel.  Nevertheless, it did not disappoint. We have the usual Young set-up which I’ve learned to love. Craig was a great.  As irresponsible as he is in certain areas of his love life, he really steps up in regards to his family and after he meets Rain.  They were a great match for each other.  I loved how Rain refused to take any of Craig’s crap and totally called him on it. The plot moved pretty fast although the last third of the book kinda took a left turn out of nowhere. I just didn’t expect that to be the conflict and it felt a bit forced.  Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, but I think there could have been a more relative conflict. If you’ve read any of the other books in this series, this is already sold to you.  If you haven’t, GET ON THAT.  I don’t know what you’re waiting for.  Either way, this is a short, fast read that will put a smile on your face.

One King's Way is a novella (#6.5) in Samantha Young's contemporary romance series titled: On Dublin Street. I didn't know Ms. Young would be adding to this series beyond the sixth and final installment so I was so happy to see this title pop up! One King's Way is Craig's story (remember him? the bartender Joss kissed at the bar way back when she was trying to make Braden jealous?). In this book, Craig is a one-night-stand kind of guy who surprisingly feels an instant connection with the heroine: Rain. He's literally sex on a stick and she's the same with the addition of a sweet vulnerability. These two both have strong bonds with their family members, which is admirable but also annoying (let me clarify: Rain is annoying!) as their single-minded protectiveness clearly interferes with any long-term plans. Craig and Rain's attraction is smokin' hot but the relationship is complicated, and I just could not get on board with Rain's seemingly obsession when it came to protecting her sister. Regardless, Ms. Young managed to keep me entertained and engaged in a surprise post-series novella and I love her for that! If you're a fan of the series then add this novella to your list. If you're a newbie, start at the beginning! Hint: books #1 and #3 are my absolute favorites. Enjoy! My favorite quote: "Life was never too short for justice. But revenge, yes. Life was too short for revenge." The On Dublin Street series includes the following installments as of November 2015. The ratings are my opinion only. #1-On Dublin Street ★★★★★ #1.1-An On Dublin Street Christmas ★★★★★ #1.2-An On Dublin Street Halloween #1.5-Until Fountain Bridge ★★★★★ #2-Down London Road ★★★★☆ #2.5-Castle Hill ★★★★☆ #3-Before Jamaica Lane ★★★★★ #4-Fall from India Place ★★★☆☆ #5-Echoes of Scotland Street ★★★☆☆ #5.5-Valentine #6-Moonlight on Nightingale Way ★★★½☆ #6.5-One King's Way ★★★☆☆

Reviewed by Annie and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog ONE KING’S WAY is one of those instances where you need to know when to stop. After the last book in the series, that was supposed to be the end of the series. However, Samantha Young has released this novella featuring Craig, a character that we’ve been before. If I’m going to be totally honest with you, I didn’t like this novella. At all. Craig is portrayed as the flirt. As a bartender, he gets a lot of attention with the ladies. However, I found that Craig’s attempt at flirting seemed to be shut down by the heroine every single time. So readers don’t get that fun, flirty nature that we’re expecting from Craig. The real problem in this story is the heroine, Rain. Rain Alexander has a major chip on her shoulder. She has a lot of anger pent up and she wants to channel that into gaining revenge. This entire plot seemed petty and stupid, putting Rain in a very unfavorable light. So much so that I wondered countless times what Craig found appealing about her character. She’s so emotionally manipulative that I lost interest very quickly. Young doesn’t really do anything to redeem her either. I found that the resolution was swift and not very believable, pushing things to the side rather than really dealing with the problem. I was expecting much more for Craig but ended up being quite disappointed in his happily ever after. I think it’s safe to say that I’ll be skipping on this author’s next releases.
