Old Mortality is a novel by Sir Walter Scott set in the period of 1679 to 1689 in south west Scotland. Along with The Black Dwarf if forms the 1st series of Scott's Tales of My Landlord. The two novels were published together in 1816. It is considered by many critics be one of Scott's best novels.
