Overview

It's all fun and games...until someone falls in love. Burned in the past by a handsome man who'd made her feel ugly, Lila Lazin's not interested in Tom Caine. Tom looks like he stepped right off the cover of a fashion magazine -- and he's smart and funny, too. He's also interested in Lila, no matter how much she tries to tell him they have nothing in common.

About the Author

When she was in third grade, Megan Hart fell in love for the first time. Not with a boy (that would wait until fourth grade), but with a story. Homecoming by Ray Bradbury leaped out at her from the pages of a library book, and she tumbled head over heels. In the dark ages, before the days of photocopiers, the only way for her to keep a copy of this story was to copy it out by hand so she could read it over and over again. Something funny happened, though, as she carefully printed it on lined notebook paper.

This was my first Megan Hart book. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. I love flawed characters and unexpected hiccups along the plot that doesn't wrap up into a happy ever after right away, but I just couldn't believe that a woman (Lila) could be that insecure. It kinda dragged on and on--surprising considering that the book wasn't all that long...just when you thought, OK, she's over this and Lila and Tom can get on with a relationship, her issues from her past crept up. I couldn't imagine a real flesh & blood man putting up with her and going the distance. That being said, it was a quick read and not horrible.
