About the Author

Kay Lyons always wanted to be a writer, ever since the age of seven or eight when she copied the pictures out of a Charlie Brown book and rewrote the story because she didn't like the plot. Through the years her stories have changed but one characteristic stayed true- they were all romances. Each and every one of her manuscripts included a love story.

Published in 2005 with Harlequin Enterprises, Kay's first release was a national bestseller. Kay has also been a HOLT Medallion, Book Buyers Best and RITA Award nominee.

I liked this character driven story. Although the women are Christian, the book doesn’t shove it down your throat. I especially liked the line where the main character references her church as a place where they don’t care about fancy clothes but just coming to worship God. This is a clean romance that doesn’t ignore the struggle to hold to one’s convictions.

This story was great, it really gave the reader pause with what so many of us take for granted...our eyes. What a truly wonderful HEA. It is hard for me to put into words just what a great storyline and the characters. All I can write is that this book was outstanding! ***vrnb***

Kay Lyons developed an interesting story. Emma had been bli ded in the car accident that killed her mother. Ian sudvived a rescue of a kudnapped victim with a simple bullet wound. When he awoke from surgery, he was in the dark. No matter how much light, he was blind. Ms. Lyons has a great foundation for a great series as Emma meets Ian,and then her Besties stsrted to find their hearts. I found the story entertaining, with great suspense. The honest way she dealt with blindness, family skeletons, and mental health was true! I recommend this tory. It is Christian basd, but it was not sanctimonious!!

The premise sounded interesting and it was free, so I read it. Even though I figured out who the villain of the story was as soon as they appeared, I kept reading. The characters felt real. Their dialogue, their interests, their problems, and their joys all felt natural. The story flowed well and was interesting; if a tad predictable. Was it a great book? No, but it was enjoyable. When I first started reading, I didn't realize it was what is labeled as "Christian Romance". Frankly, I have problems with that term, because being Christian does not automatically make someone good; or bad, for that matter. There are plenty of hypocrites and liars who go to church, and there are plenty of good people who do not. This is an enjoyable romance novel with romantic kisses and words and without consumation. The lead female and her friends, her "besties", all speak of their belief in God. That's fine. They could have just as easily stated their belief in Buddha, Allah, the Dalai Lama, or Mother Nature, and it wouldn't alter the fact this is a sweetly romantic book with an interesting premise, solid and appealing characters, and a predictable but still readable mystery.

Really great insight into what a blind person must deal with both physically and emotionally. Hope a similar miracle occurs in Ian's future.

Great story. Sadly those of us who have sight take our vision for granted and seldom think what those without sight go through -- emotionally, physically and mentally..

Really looked this one a powerful story. Excitement in spades can't wait to read the entire series. Sometimes the books that follow the first book aren't done as well this one is even better. So get reading and enjoy this HEA!

It was hard to put the story aside so that I could get some sleep or recharge my IPad. I liked that the book was clean.

Well written story with strong characters. Can a blind woman teach a soldier who has just gone blind cope and change his life? A very different romance and mystery book.

Not By Sight is my first book by Kay Lyons Stockham but hopefully not my last. Ms Stockham has delivered a well written book. I love the characters, they are just fantastic. There is plenty of drama, action, suspense, humor and spice to keep the readers attention. As a matter of fact it kept my attention until the wee hours of the morning. I couldn't put it down. Emma and Ian's story is touching and sad in spots, so keep a tissue close by. I enjoyed Not By Sight and would be happy to read more from Kay Lyons Stockham. Not By Sight is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
