Overview
The debut solo album from 311 guitarist/vocalist Nick Hexum, 2013's My Shadow Pages finds the reggae and hip-hop-influenced musician investigating his other varied influences, from jazz to soul to blues and more. Produced by Jim Scott, who has previously worked with artists like Wilco, Jason Mraz, Tom Petty, and Sting, the album features Hexum and his quintet, which includes guitarist Zack Hexum (Nick's brother), keyboardist Luke Miller, bassist Andres Rebellon, and drummer Gary Novak. These are all original songs written by Hexum that, while certainly a departure from 311's sound, still showcase his longstanding love of reggae and pop. Included is the single "Sideways.,"
