Overview
My Mother’s Heart is a touching tale of a single Mother, Ilene and her daughter, Margaret. It expresses the relation between the two and journals Margaret's life after Ilene’s unexpected death. Alone and confused, Margaret discovers that it is only through the memories of her Mother that she finds her way back to her Mother’s Heart!
The Title of the Book was as deliberate as its Story line. My Mother's Heart was a tribute to My own Mother, growing up in the poorest parts of our Country, it was her strength and will be survive that pull me out of a life of dispare. There were many days that all we had were her laughter and kindness that kept us from the worst that life could offer us.
I can vividly recall the afternoon that my mother read My Mother's Heart for the first time. I surprised her with its first copy, she spent most of the day holding the book to her heart and crying. To see part of her Story in print was her life's dream.
My prayer is that you will find loose yourself and find it again - in My Mother's Heart:The Story of Brown Sugar.
