Overview

Non-fiction novel follows the life journey of an Elvis impersonator
“My Life as an Elvis” by Michael T. Gracey is the biography of Sammy Stone Atchison who chose a career as an Elvis tribute artist
About the Book: The Story of Sammy Stone Atchison was related to Michal T. Gracey in 2011 (ISBN 9781467906081). Departing from his usual science fiction novels, Gracey records the words of Laura Atchison and Sammy “Stone” Atchison as they tell about their lives and their life choices.
My Life as an Elvis is an account of Sammy’s desire to represent the King of Rock and Roll. He knows that no one can be Elvis, but he has tried to sing as he thinks Elvis himself would. He has presented Elvis as professionally, honorably and to the best of his ability. The story begins with the birth of Elvis in 1935 and continues to the birth of Sammy in 1943. Their lives have some similarities along the way and when he saw Elvis perform in Port Arthur, Texas in 1955, Sammy began a life long path to be the best performer that he could. Life gets in the way over the years, but Sammy still believes that God can fulfill that desire.
