Overview

New York Times bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones returns with the second book in her electrifying series featuring Lilah Love, an FBI profiler who doesn’t fight her dark side—she embraces it.

It’s Lilah Love’s job to inhabit a killer’s mind. The unapologetically tough FBI profiler is very comfortable there. But her latest case is making her head spin. It’s a string of brutal assassinations carried out across the country, each tied to a mysterious tattoo. Body by body, she’s followed the clues all the way back to her hometown. And every step of the way, the killer has been following her.

Here, beneath the glamour of the privileged Hamptons community, is a secret long buried but never forgotten. It’s bigger than Lilah. It’s powerful enough to escape the reach of the FBI. And it’s more personal than anyone can imagine. Because it’s hiding in Lilah’s own past. To fight it, she’s forced to turn to her lethally tempting ex, Kane Mendez. He’s an expert at bringing out Lilah’s darkest impulses. If she plans to survive, she’s going to need them.

Guilt-ridden Lilah has to finally face the reality of her dark side. She can kill with no compunction in self-defense. The fact that she has the ability to zone out emotions and act as needed, is an asset as she plunges deeper into the mystery of who is killing seemingly unrelated people with the same MO. She must also face her past and the buried emotions she has for Kane Mendez. This is their journey in this love/hate relationship while building trust between them. There is nothing Kane will not do in order to protect Lilah. She is the only woman for him. This plot is complicated, slow in building up to delineating all the puzzle pieces, but full of introspection as Lilah goes through her thinking processes. She has to find all the significant pieces of this murder puzzle before she can fully act. With assassins for hire named "Ghost" and "Gamer", dirty politicians and those who own them, and dirty law enforcement members, there are few people Lilah can trust absolutely. Once the main pieces fit, Lilah and Kane are unstoppable. In the venue of an amazing Agatha Christie mystery, this series will have you holding your breath. If you are a reader who enjoys thrilling complex stories, this series is for you. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing this book with me.

5 star review of Murder Girl (Lilah Love #2) by Lisa Renee Jones Two of my favourite types of reads together romance (although there is not a lot of this in Murder Notes) and murder mystery, what more could I ask for? I’m not to sure where to start with this review as I do not want to give any spoilers away.   Murder Girl picks up from where Murder Notes ended so if you haven’t read book one, stop what you are doing and read Murder Notes first otherwise you will not have the background to read Murder Girl. I was invested in this book from the first page. I could not put it down, I kept saying just one more chapter I have to know what happens so a sleepless night was had, but oh what a story. Lilah Love is an FBI profiler and is used to dealing with the seedier side of life. When a string of murders takes Lilah back to her home town, her past rises up to smack her right in the face. Is this the work of a serial killer or an assassin? Will her haunted and dark past be brought to light? The fact that she really cannot trust anyone including her family and Kane the only man she has truly loved makes for one heck of a crazy ride. The writing was just as intense and as strong as book one and had me on the edge of my seat. There were so many plots twists that I was kept guessing and I needed to concentrate to ensure I didn’t loose track and to me that is the sign of a great book that has drawn you right in to the storyline. The intrigue, suspense, danger and secrets had me riveted from the first chapter until the last, I was absolutely hooked and feel that this is one of the best examples of romantic suspense I have read in a long time. I cannot wait to see where Ms.Jones takes us next on this amazing journey that is Lilah Love.

This book is like a runaway train racing every closer to a showdown between our intrepid heroine and a vicious and highly skilled assassin. Lilah Love is an FBI profiler up to her ears in dead bodies and chasing a highly skilled killer who leaves no evidence behind to help her flesh out a profile that will help to solve her current case. While she’s back in the Hampton’s she’s assailed with painful reminders of her mother’s death, her father’s apathy and her big brother, the Chief of Police. Add a stalker, her current love interest who follows her to town and a sexy ex-lover who will make you swoon and I promise you’ll be glued to this book from beginning to end. It’s a fast paced, smartly written conclusion to Murder Notes that paves the way to an entire series that I can’t wait to sink my teeth into. I read an early copy of this book through NetGalley and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.

3.5 Stars It is highly recommended that you read the first Lilah Love book... MURDER NOTES. Murder Girl is a continuation featuring all the characters from the first book. The beginning of Murder Girl gives a several-page synopsis of the first book, all the characters and how they all relate to each other. Lilah Love is an FBI profiler who manages to inhabit killers' mind. She calls it her dark side. She is called in to investigate brutal killings taking place in various parts of the country. Each killing is tied to a mysterious tattoo ... a tatto she is only too familiar with. The killer is leading her straight to her hometown ... a small community filled with long buried secrets. This is a well-written suspense, with unforgettable characters. Again, it is recommended that the reader start at the beginning in order to understand what's happening in this book. Parts of the story seemed to drag a little, but would quickly pick up the action again. Many thanks to the author / Montlake Romance / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

This is part of a series. Murder Notes is the first book in the series and Murder Girl continues the story right where the first one ended. I love that Lisa Renee Jones starts this book with a short recap chapter that reminds the reader what happened in the first book but to get the full appreciation of the series I recommend starting with book one. The storyline is one that pulled me in, kept me guessing while having me hope for a happy ending for Lilah. I was intrigued by Junior and what his/her tie is to Lilah. Is her family as dirty as they are being portrayed? There are so many questions that I need to be answered. Murder Girl ended and I still have questions, leaving me excited for Lilah Love #3. I know there is so much history for Lilah and Kane but he is such a bad boy with his mobster past that I want them together. The author teases her reader with their attraction and then points out all the reasons they are so wrong for each other and that leaves us guessing at what is going to be Lilah’s ending. There are of course other male characters that would be more appropriate for Lilah Love but they seem so boring for her life. As you can tell I’m #TeamKane all the way. Murder Girl is the perfect blend of intrigue, darkness, sex, and mystery. It is not tied up neatly with a bow. You will be left with questions that will hopefully be answered in the next book.

This adventure just keeps getting better with every new thrilling twist and exciting turn. In this book we are following the Awesomely talented Lilah as she stalks a killer that is also stalking her. The danger, mystery, drama and passion all make this a "I so can not put it down for a moment or I might miss something and regret it later" kinda read. Looking forward to getting more answers and unexpected questions in the next book.....

Lisa Renee Jones is making it personal. She does this to toy with me. I swear it's true. She ends her books at the wrong spot. PERIOD. WRONG SPOT!!!! Okay, so you argue the whole author point but really, as a reader, it's not cool. Just because she's this twisted ruler over the "imaginary world she creates" doesn't make her special! Ummm, okay, so it does but (said in a super whiney voice) I need more Lilah now!!! [Foot stomp] Do you hear that Ms. Jones?!?!?!?! (Said in a slightly spotty, 13 year old girl voice with matching head and neck emphasis) Sigh, you want me to be an adult- whatever! (Coughs a sound that suspiciously is similar to buttface) [In the most poised voice, like dubbed over with a posh English accent] I just finished Murder Girl by Ms. Lisa Renee Jones. It was positively delightful. There is an undercurrent of dark and bad things written through this well written novel. I must say though Murder Girl is book two of the Lilah Love series and must be read after Murder Notes. Once you have enjoyed being tempted by the dark side, teased and taunted by the "love"letters (tut tut, did you catch that little pun?), and are engrossed in the coincidences, you will need more. [With a less posh accent and the regular voice of this crazed reader] MORE!!! More Lilah! Free Lilah! We want more LOVE! #MoreLoveToGive Okay, so the adult in me takes a backseat when I need more. This series, and honestly any I've read by this author, has got me by the proverbial short hairs and until I know what's up, the grip only seems to tighten. Lilah Love is a woman on a mission. She is determined and set in her ways. She rarely takes shit from anyone but is always dishing it out. She's tough as nails, has bigger balls than most men, and isn't upset by corpses. Clearly, she is a badass. She's my kind of ride or die chick. Her story is a very unique one. And it seems that it's constantly being updated. Things aren't always what they seem. People aren't always who they pretend to be. And Lilah, well, Lilah has to wade through all the shit to find the real. I can't say it enough, I need more Lilah Love.

Review: Another exciting installment in this series. This book starts off where the last book ends. This series is the case where you need to read the books in order because they feed into each other. There is still tons of secrets and mysteries happening in this book, though some are answered by the end, but some are still out there. The ending is a nice wrap-up, but leaves it open ended enough for future stories. The chemistry between Lilah and Kane is undeniable, but the will they, won't they get together was getting a little old to me. They just need to go for and screw everyone and everything else. Overall, very mysterious and suspenseful with a little romance thrown in. 4Stars * I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book provided by the Author.*

Murder Girl is Book 2 in the Lilah Love series. Highly recommend reading these books in order as Book 2 picks up directly where Book 1 left off. I LOVE that the author did a quick recap at the start of this one. So many times it takes me 2-3 chapters to refresh myself on what went down in the book prior. Absolutely genius. Wish more authors did this. The plot certainly thickens in this installment and Lilah finally starts to close in on some answers. A very intriguing edge of your seat thriller that will keep you on your toes from beginning to end. While the romance does heat up between Lilah and Kane, it still takes a back burner to the suspense portion of the story. Overall this is a great addition to the series and I look forward to what is next.

4 Stars Review by Amy Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog Murder Girl was my first experience reading Lisa Renee Jones. This was the second book in the series. What was unexpectedly cool was the beginning of the book had a cliff’s notes version of the first book as well as a list and description of characters. If you have not read the first book, she makes sure you are going in prepared. Of course, you wonder how complicated a book can be when you need notes and a character list. This was definitely an in-depth book with a huge list of players and if I had it to do again, I think I would have enjoyed this book more after reading the first one in the series. The cliff’s notes was super helpful, but it was a bit like a speed date and I didn’t develop a connection to the characters like I probably would have had I read the whole book. I still felt a little lost as this book is truly the second half of a story she began in the first one. Moving on to Ms Lilah Love. She was one spunky go getter. Working for the FBI, she is trying to unravel a series of murders that seem to be connected by a tattoo. Such a simple concept, but this book was anything but simple. It was deeply plotted, with many twists, and sub-stories. This is not a relaxing beach read, but rather an intricately woven story that keeps your attention at all times because you have to be alert with so much going on. Have no fear, for there was romance afoot among the action, and there may or may not have even been a steamy bedroom scene, but you will have to read it to confirm those details. Overall, this was an action packed, enjoyable read. The complexity of the story telling reminded me a bit of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. If you enjoy elaborate story lines with plenty of turmoil and mystery, a snarky protagonist and a dangerous bad boy thrown in on the side, this book will definitely keep you entertained.

Oh man! This go round Lisa Renee Jones just solidified that she definitely knows how to do romantic suspense! I fell so far into this story that I lost most of my day to the ins and outs that Lilah Love was weeding through as she tries to solve her case. It was a day well spent. Lilah’s investigation takes her to a place I never imagined. This story goes DEEP into some serious mystery that I won’t spoil. Even as she’s suspecting everyone around her, I was right there as well experiencing a journey of suspense I won’t soon forget. I totally love Lilah’s no nonsense F-you attitude which is something I don’t usually enjoy. But Lilah, geez, she’s just so freaking determined to get to the end of the threads that just keep unraveling and she’s tough enough to do it on her own. I respected the heck out of her! Kane is still a bit on the backburner through the first half of the book but when things start speeding up, he’s there to give her the support that only he can offer. With his actions and words we are given some insight into how he thinks and what he feels. At one point when they are talking about what happened in the past, I realized that this man would do anything for her. Even more than what he had done that one fateful night years ago. Gah! I love a hero like that. This picks up exactly where Murder Notes stops so you will certainly need to read book one. However, Ms. Jones does include a summary of Notes to help refresh your memory and I was so thankful for the reminders of some of the little tidbits I had forgotten. More authors should utilize this tactic when delving into an ongoing saga. This isn’t necessarily fast paced but it never bogged down and I never once felt the urge to skim. I consumed every word and when I hit the end I immediately needed the rest of the story. And now to hurry up and wait! Sigh. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Montlake Publishing. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Murder Girl, book 2 in the series picks up right where Murder Notes left off. Dang, this series just consumes me! I could not put this book down because I kept needing to know what was going to happen next. (It's NEVER what you think!) Lilah Love is still trying to investigate the murders that have been happening in the Hamptons. Throughout the story she has doubts of just about everybody she comes in contact with....her boss, her dad, her brother, her old friends, her FBI counterparts and even at one point her ex Kane because he will not tell her things she needs to know that she knows he knows. When certain things happen and Kane finally comes 100% clean with Lilah, she realizes she can trust him. As the two of them slowly start to connect the dots, they both realize that there is a much bigger picture of things going on than they ever thought. Just when you think everything is going to be solved....BOOM....Lisa Renee Jones throws another curve ball and the story line goes into a new direction. I just love this series and especially Lilah. Her language is so filthy, yet so funny. I can't wait to see where Lilah's path is taking her next and am secretly hoping it will involve Kane because they truly belong together.

5 STARS FOR LILAH!! Another phenomenal story in this series. Lilah continues her story with all the twists and turns and full of suspense. We did get some answers in this book that we were waiting on from the first book, Murder Notes. Lisa Renee Jones is a fantastic author that keeps you turning pages. If you haven't started this series, what are you waiting for.

dramatic, intense, intriguing, edgy MURDER GIRL is the second instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult LILAH LOVE romantic suspense series focusing on FBI profiler Lilah Love. SOME BACKGROUND: A series of murders, all fitting the same MO and assassin style shooting finds our heroine jetting across the country towards the rich and famous, and a past she can’t soon forget. The Hamptons were once our heroine’s pride and joy but murderous demons and the death of her beloved mother forced Lilah away from her family and the man she once loved. Now that her brother is police chief, and her father is schmoozing the political elite, Lilah Love must tread carefully where others refuse to go but in doing so begins to unravel a close connection to everyone she knows. As more bodies begin to pile up, so too do the threatening ‘notes’ that speak of a past, she was hoping to forget. Told from first person perspective (Lilah Love) MURDER GIRL picks up immediately after the events of book one –Murder Notes- and continues to focus on the hunt for a potential serial killer, that may or may not be connected to Lilah’s past. Two years earlier Lilah, and her then lover, Mexican cartel heir Kane Mendez found themselves embroiled in a dark and dangerous situation that appears to have followed them to present day. As the body count continues to climb, more threatening ‘notes’ addressed to our heroine reveal a personal knowledge about their tainted pasts. As Lilah begins to get closer to the truth, threats from another source find Lilah the prey in a game where she is targeted from a power she is unable to control. MURDER GIRL is another thrilling roller coaster ride of intrigue, mystery, conspiracy and death. The political elite and law enforcement have been compromised such that our heroine can no longer trust the people with whom she works and loves. The aura of restlessness and the uneasiness of Lilah’s investigation places everyone on edge, the closer she comes to uncovering the truth. Once again, the romance aspect of the story line is limited as Lilah is focused on the end results. MURDER GIRL is another detailed and complex story line that ventures along many paths, differing angles, clues and secrets that do not want to be revealed. At times, the number of suspects, leads and misinformation was complicated and confusing, in the hopes of misleading the heroine (and the reader) from the ultimate prize. Lisa Renee Jones pulls the reader into a story of betrayal and revenge; assassins and ‘ghosts’; and an organization controlled by the political elite who will stop at nothing to protect their secrets and lies. MURDER GIRL is a dramatic, intense, intriguing and edgy story that will keep you guessing until the end.

This is a fantastic conclusion to book one Murder Notes. The twists and turns were mind bending and honestly when you really thought maybe you had a handle on the story, you were so very wrong. I loved Lilah, such a bad a** and Kane. I don't do spoilers and I'm not going to regurgitate the blurb. I can only highly suggest you read book one and you can jump right into this one. There's much to much going on in this book to elaborate on every detail only to say that even her own family falls under suspicion, her boss and the only person she really trusts is Kane. And that gets sketchy at times. Lilah is the ultimate FBI profiler, obsessive in her manner of dissecting, it's what makes her so good at her job. I white knuckled the last half of this one on my kindle. It is clear to see that there will be future books coming based around this story and I think they will be as good as this duet. Just as a note and it's my own opinion, nonetheless I'm sticking to it. The detail and dialogue at times slowed this book down where I felt could have been trimmed a bit without losing the story. Hence my knocking off half a star for that. That said, LRJ writes a great story here and you'd be missing out by not reading these two books. 4.5 stars ** arc from NetGalley and Publisher for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.**

Exceptionally Thrilling! Superb, Story! Lisa Renee Jones sure knows how to capture her readers attention, in this highly, addictive, highly, suspenseful, and highly, dramatic, thriller. The story is intense, filled with danger, betrayal, murder, secrets, as well as romantic intrigue. A thrilling, roller coaster ride, that keeps you on the edge of your seat, holding your breath, as this story unfolds. The writing is fantastic, the character development superb, grabbing the reader and not letting you go, until long after you are finished reading. Don’t miss this exceptional story. I just can’t get enough of Lisa Renee Jones works. Highly recommend this series.

This book is amazing! In my opinion, it is definitely more suspense/crime thriller than romance (there is a smidge of romance), but that is okay with me as long as it works. And this really works! This author’s imagination just astounds me; the way it bobs and weaves through such a detailed storyline is fascinating and I am in awe that she is able to help us as readers to be able to follow along so easily. This is Book 2 in a series so you definitely want to go back and Read Murder Notes first if you haven’t already since this book picks up where it left off. Which reminds me, thank you so much Lisa for recapping book 1 at the beginning in order to help refresh my avid reader memory. Lilah Love is such a great heroine and character. As an FBI profiler, she finds herself right in the thick of her investigation continuing on from Book 1. Her relationship with Kane is very complicated but I feel almost a necessary part of her in a way. They have some very telling conversations that help understand their dynamic. There are so many interesting characters in this book who will definitely put many doubts in your mind as to who is on the right side of the law and who isn’t. I was happy to have some burning questions answered but feel like we have just skimmed the surface and there is so much more to learn. I am really looking forward to the next book and the continuation of Lilah’s very interesting and fascinating life.

Well damn, didn't see that one coming. I have to say if you haven't read the first book, why not? You can't read this book without reading the first one. I have to say I was really happy the author put a recap of the first book at the beginning of this book as it has been several months since I read the first one it was nice to get a refresher. So this book is a conclusion of the first but also knowing the series can continue. I really did enjoy these first 2 books and think Lilah is such a kick-ass person. I also think Kane and Lilah are made for each other sometimes that might not be a good thing but in the end it's what both needs. I look forward to seeing where this story goes after this. *I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.*

This suspense filled thriller continues in this second book in the Lilah Love series. I don't want to give anything away so I'll just say this, this book picks up right where book one left off. If you haven't read Murder Notes yet stop now. Go read it. Then come back and grab a copy of this one! As with the first book the story is fast paced, intense, and exciting as Lilah Loves continues to track whoever is responsible for the current string of murders that seem to have a personal connection with Lilah. This is a series you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it.

The murder mystery that Lilah is investigating continues in this book ... so if you haven't read Murder Notes, then go back and read it because if definitely continues. Lilah, with Kane's help, sets out to solve the murders ... no assassinations, because they both know that these are not murders or suicides. This book, just like book 1, is a page turner because there are so many twists and turns that you really have to concentrate to keep everything straight ... and what a plot it is. I really can't say much more without wrecking it for others, but this is definitely a series that you don't want to miss. Ms. Jones doesn't state that there is another book ... but there has to be, because so many things were left in the air. I received an ARC courtesy of Montlake Romance through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

Murder Girl picks up from where Murder Notes ended. Lisa Renee Jones' fearless heroine Lilah Love is determined to get to the bottom of the vicious murders following her. Everything is connected and no matter where the clues lead her she will fight for justice while keeping her own secrets in the dark. It's reassuring that Lilah's character hasn't changed much from the first story. Lilah is an admirable character as she focuses on getting the job done despite her family's insistence on kowtowing to outside forces. Jones continues to weave a tangled web of danger and deceit. The further into the story we fall the wider the cast of suspicion. This is one of the biggest reasons why I love this series. I don't know what's coming next and there's always a surprising twist waiting in the wings. The organization making the plays has been exposed to Lilah and even her boss is pushing an unknown agenda that incredibly links to Lilah's past. There are so many layers in this plot and I love seeing them unfurl as the story moves forward! It does feel like there is a lot of running around before any good information is revealed, but I see it as a set up for the next book. There's definitely something big in the works and I can't wait to see Lilah in action again! *ARC provided in consideration for review*

Oh my! This series started with a bang and this book did not disappoint and kept up and exceeded my expectations. It started at the exact point where book one stopped and, I am pleased to say, with a perfect synopsis of book one at the beginning (which every book 2 should have) so we are up to date. Does this mean you do not have to read book 1? No! Book 1 was so good, it would be criminal to not read it. This book has Lilah Love questioning her decisions, her connections, her relationships both personal and professional, and all while hunting a serial killer. This is a quick paced and engaging read that will have you reading so fast to find out what happens next. I definitely recommend this one and love how this sets up for a long running series! Sign me up for more Agent Lilah Love! I see great reads in our future with her. **Received this ARC for review from the publisher via NetGalley**

I'm seriously in love with this series! I'm fascinated by the process of watching the main character figure out clue by clue to solve a series of murders, as well as dealing with what happened to her two years prior and how that may be connected. To see how an author can have so much going on in a story and slowly connect everything that happens to the people we get introduced to just has me riveted to the pages. Trust me, you will not be bored with this series. The more you read the more it sucks you in and the more you want to find out the truth right along with Lilah. The romance part is not a major focus but still a big part of the story. You do get to see Kane and Lilah work together more in this book vs the first book and I hope that will continue. I like these two together. Kane having Lilah's back just increases the excitement of the story. He should be forbidden to her. He should be the one she trust the least, but the fact that he is the only one she can trust makes him one of the most intriguing characters besides Lilah herself. This is not a standalone set. You have to read book one or you will not only be lost, but also miss out on some major things that happened. It's why I can't reveal too much about what is happening in this book. While this did end with the a bit of a completion, it still is not over. Lilah has accomplished one task to a very big picture. I'm excited for the next book and looking forward to what will be revealed next. I voluntarily read this arc.

Awesome intricate plot, fast-paced action, and suspense… This is the second book in the Lilah Love series, a continuation of, and resolution to, the intriguing suspenseful events that unfolded in the first book. The case in the Hamptons becomes more complicated with each passing day and FBI Agent Lilah Love, a woman with a serious dark side she has yet to fully accept, has to unravel enigmas which strain her comfort level as they hit too close to home, in more ways than one. Lilah has much to contend with on a case of connected murders across the country that have lead back to her hometown. Her father’s political ambitions have driven him down a possibly dangerous and corrupt path causing Lilah to postulate compromising questions as she rethinks her own past. Local law enforcement wants their murder case closed having set their sights on the wrong perpetrator, not having bought the profile of an assassin ticking victims off of a hit list. A stalker continues to leave taunting notes implying knowledge of the secret Lilah shares with the son of a man who ran a drug cartel, said man being her ex-lover from two years ago. With the presence of her other ex-lover, another FBI agent, a good man she’s unable to love, there’s animosity between the two men. Among all this Lilah needs to confirm her assassin theory so the FBI can take jurisdiction and find the true killer as the deaths mount up. The only person Lilah trusts is the man who walks between two worlds, the man who gets her, who understands the darker side of her psyche and that she loves but the badge is always between them. This book had an awesome intricate plot, it was fast-paced action and suspense; there were insidious enigmas with confounding twists/turns to keep the reader engaged. The heroine was a complex, feisty, fascinating individual. This story has a blend of everything that meshed beautifully: murders, betrayals, conspiracies, dirty law enforcement, assassins, patriarchs of drug cartels, and a powerful elitist society manipulating the strings. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. This is the end of the duet but not the end of the series, some things were left for future resolution. An advanced reading copy was obtained from the publisher via NetGalley.

4.9 Stars Book #2 starts right where we left Lilah in book #1! She just arrived at Kane's to see the boss of the Romano cartel bound and gagged in his garage! What is happening? And why doesn't Kane want her to dig any deeper into the tattoo and the killings and everything that happened back then? But Lilah is not giving up. Added to her Kane troubles, her colleague and ex lover Rich is now in the Hamptons too - sent by her boss to help. But she can't have Rich anywhere near Kane or the killer! She doesn't want another dead person on her conscience. Who is the bad guy? The bad GUYSSSS??? Let's hope Lilah will find out everything before too many more people are killed! WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO LILAH??? WILL SHE CATCH THE BAD GUYs??? READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT ☺ ════════════════════════ Finally book #2! I really enjoyed the first one and as always with a second book, I was mega scared that I had forgotten too much. BUT - Lisa is amazing at making us Bookalzheimer sufferers remember the previous book! She spent the first SEVEN percent of the book telling us all about what happened in the first one! AMAZING! Thank you LRJ!!! And then we're right in the middle of Lilah's adventure! And we still don't know what and who and how and why and grrrrrr - I wanted to take a peek at the end to find out if everything will end up okay, but of course I kept on reading without sneaking a peek! In my opinion it started out a bit slow, but it soon got really exciting - with more people dead and more than one killer? Who is hiring these guys? What is happening?!?!!! It's all mega exciting and Lilah is trying her best to find answers without getting any of her loved ones killed. And that includes Kane. He wants Lilah back for good, but she thinks that will never work - her badge will not allow them to end up happily ever after - BUT maybe the reader can still hope for a happy end. As the story goes on we find out what is behind things, but this book will not end with all the bad guys behind bars and all the cases closed. Lilah still has a lot to do... and I can't wait to get started with book #3 - I haven't heard anything about this being more than a duet, but I realllly hope so!!! If you want to compare this series to a TV Show, I would say it's a mix of Criminal Minds & Revenge! Profiling FBI meets Hamptons small-town rich families and politics. I wouldn't mind seeing this on Netflix one day!!! I really need to see Kane!! ☺ And I also wouldn't mind a story about a few of the male guest-stars in those first 2 books! MURDER GIRL was the perfect 2nd book in this mystery thriller series! Super exciting, page-turnerish, funny - and so much more! Run to your nearest amazon to find out if and how Lilah will catch the bad guys & for your own peek at Kane ;) !
