Nursery rhymes have been passed from generation to generation in past years mainly by word of mouth. This is one reasons why many have differing variations. Kate Greenaway who lived from 1846 to 1901 was, and still is, world famous as a children's book illustrator. In addition to illustrating for other authors, she authored and illustrated several books of her own. One of the was Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes. These illustrations have been reproduced in this current publication.
