She must chase them into the city that was once New York, try to rescue her sister, and fight to the death in Arena One, the death stadium where there is only one rule: no one survives. Ever.

"ARENA ONE was one of those books that you read late into the night until your eyes start to cross because you don't want to put it down....I would highly recommend ARENA ONE. "
--Dallas Examiner

In A QUEST OF HEROES (BOOK #1 OF THE SORCERER'S RING), Thorgrin, a special 14 year old boy, the least loved of his father, learns he has powers he does not understand. An outsider, he must fight for acceptance as he strives to become a warrior, to join the King's Legion, and as he falls in love with the king's 16 year old daughter. Most of all, he must learn who he really is, and why his destiny is so important.

"THE SORCERER'S RING has all the ingredients for an instant success: plots, counterplots, mystery, valiant knights, and blossoming relationships replete with broken hearts, deception and betrayal. It will keep you entertained for hours, and will satisfy all ages. Recommended for the permanent library of all fantasy readers."

RISE OF THE DRAGONS (KINGS AND SORCERERS--BOOK 1) tells the epic coming of age story of Kyra, 15, who dreams of becoming a famed warrior, like her father, though she is the only girl in a fort of boys. She struggles to understand her special skills and mysterious inner power, and comes to realize she is different than the others. But a secret is being kept from her about her birth and the prophecy surrounding her, leaving her only to wonder. When Kyra comes of age and her father tries to wed her off, she refuses and journeys out on her own, into a dangerous wood, where she encounters a wounded dragon--and ignites a series of events that will change the kingdom forever.

"RISE OF THE DRAGONS succeeds--right from the start.... A superior fantasy...It begins, as it should, with one protagonist's struggles and moves neatly into a wider circle of knights, dragons, magic and monsters, and destiny....All the trappings of high fantasy are here, from soldiers and battles to confrontations with self....A recommended winner for any who enjoy epic fantasy writing fueled by powerful, believable young adult protagonists."

With her pending sale to slavehood, she is desperate.18 year old Prince Thanos despises everything his royal family stands for. He abhors their harsh treatment of the masses, especially the brutal competition--The Killings--that lies at the heart of the city. He yearns to break free from the restraints of his upbringing, yet he, a fine warrior, sees no way out.

I havent read any of Morgan Rice's other books, but "In the Sorcerer's Ring" there are 17 in all; I'm in the 11th book, and I can tell you they are very good. Can't wait to read next one, hard to put down once you start to read!!! I also can't wait to read other titles by her.

But I didn't. At all.

Overall I would say a 3.5. Some stories were better than others. As an adult I found some of the too be too predictable and too far fetched. However I think teens, and young readers would really enjoy them. It was also free at the time I bought it, so a great way to find out if these are for you!

This is a great little sampler pack to see how well you might like a series before you have to purchase it!

The stories in this book all have the same plot, one of strength, courage and glory: fight for what you believe in no matter the consequences. The heros and heroines all fought to right against the injustices against them.

I love the throne for sisters nook, enough that I planned to buy the rest of the series and am now glad I didn't, for fear that they would also be full of errors, to the point of distraction.

I was able to make it to page 106 and had to stop reading. There are too many typos in the book for one thing - editing would have helped with this! But the main reason is the fact that the author totally forgot what was said just a few pages before. At one point Kyle is 3000 years old then he's suddenly 4000 years old and it is the same day in the story. Caitlin's phone was left dead in her mother's apartment. When she went in the apartment to get her phone she found her mother dead and Kyle and his "henchmen" showed up immediately. Caitlin did NOT go into her room to get her phone. Also, after leaving the scene of her first kill she realized that she didn't have her phone, which is why she went to her mother's apartment. Then someone she finds her phone in a pocket of her skirt and a few pages later she is texting Jonah from her cell phone that should still be in her mother's apartment. Really? Keep the story straight, it shouldn't be that difficult to do! Editing would have helped with this issue as well since, hopefully, the person reading and editing would have noticed the inconsistencies. I would have given it 0 stars but apparently B&N doesn't allow

Morgan expertly draws the reader into empathizing with her main characters and get caught up in her saga. Exciting...
