Overview

Miss Marple: The Complete Short Stories gathers together in one magnificent volume all of Agatha Christie’s short stories featuring her beloved intrepid investigator, Miss Marple. It’s an unparalleled compendium of murder, mayhem, mystery, and detection that represents some of the finest short form fiction in the crime fiction field, and is an essential omnibus for Christie fans.

Described by her friend Dolly Bantry as “the typical old maid of fiction,” Miss Marple has lived almost her entire life in the sleepy hamlet of St. Mary Mead. Yet, by observing village life she has gained an unparalleled insight into human nature—and used it to devastating effect. As her friend Sir Henry Clithering, the ex-Commissioner of Scotland Yard, has been heard to say: “She’s just the finest detective God ever made”—and many Agatha Christie fans would agree.

I have been a fan of Agatha Christie for many years. I keep going back to her over and over again, whether I am reading one of her stories or watching on TV. Miss Marple in particular is one of my favorites. These stories are typical Jane Marple. You are dragged into the narrative and watch as Jane Marple slowly figures out the mystery kicking yourself for not noticing the solution yourself. They are a good late night read, because each chapter is a complete story unto itself. I already own the entire collection in hardcover, but the e-books are much easier to transport and pick up where I left off, cause I don't have to worry about the bookmark falling out.

I love rereading these wonderful stories and to have them in one e-book is great. Just wish there were more of them.

I freaking love Miss Marple. I want to be an old lady who solves crimes when I'm older.

This is a perfect book. It is a complete collection of all the short stories featuring the fluffy pink Nemesis: Miss Marple. I have no idea why 2 reviewers warn people to look for a copy from a secondhand bookstore, because this e-copy is full of short stories. Ummm, well, yes, as the title clearly states, it is a complete collection of the Marple short stories. The paperback, new or secondhand, will be exactly the same. Perhaps they thought it was a collection of all her full length stories, too. It's not. Whichever format you choose, this COMPLETE COLLECTION OF SHORT MISS MARPLE STORIES is well worth reading.

Written in the typical Agatha Christie style. Enjoyable, easy reading. All the Miss Marple short stories in one book. Overall, well edited with only a couple of minor transcription errors.
