When a TV reporter is injured in a Dallas-bound jet crash, she enters a world of mistaken identity and political intrigue in this action-packed romantic suspense novel.

The crash of a Dallas-bound jet isn't just a tragedy for TV reporter Avery Daniels; it's an act of fate that hands her a golden opportunity to further her career. But it also makes her the crucial player in a drama of violent passions and deadly desires.

After plastic surgery transforms her face, Avery is mistaken for the glamorous, selfish wife of Tate Rutledge, the famous senatorial candidate and member of a powerful Texas dynasty.

As she lays helpless in the hospital, Avery makes a shattering discovery: someone close to Tate planned to assassinate him. Now, to save him, she must live another woman's life -- and risk her own.

great reading about 360 pages out of 440. I do not want to give too much away. I was on to Eddy and "Gray Hair" from early on. I was disappointed how the ending didn't blend well with the rest of the story. Everything was running along fine and then it just ended. No blending in of the senate race; aftermath of that; consequences, conclusions, continuation of other story lines - it just ended. Probably another 50 pages (on Nook Simple Touch) and it could have been written better with a similar conclusion. This is the first book of Sandra Browns that I have been disappointed in.

Good, but not one of her best. The suspense was definitely there and the bad guys weren't revealed until the end but it was pretty easy to figure things out on your own. The medical details were far fetched. A woman who is shattered/burned in a plane crash is medically reassembled and left without scars!!! Plastic surgery has made great strides over the years but even today, scars and imperfections will remain. This book took place in 1980. Tate couldn't figure out that Avery was not Carole until he saw her old appendix scar when she was in the shower. What is wrong with this guy? Didn't he feel the scar during all that lovemaking??????? Not to mention the other differences in Avery's body when compared to Carole's such as smaller breasts, etc. This was really more of a romance than a true suspense novel. Too much explicit sex that really didn't have that much to do with the mystery. The mid part of the book dragged on and on.

Sandra Brown.....WOW Amazing, articulate, and brilliant work of a writer & novelist. Fascinating, the intrigue that pulls a reader in and quickly captures one to keep on reading. Ms. Brown's talent is what novice writers aspire to, and clearly sets her apart from "one hit wonders" & their follow ups. Sandra Brown is outstanding. Thank you, Misque

The author asks you to suspend disbelief because the story line is pretty far fetched. If you're willing, you can immerse yourself in what is essentially an X rated romance novel/soap opera. Expect graphic descriptions of many sexual encounters. Of course, all the main characters are beautiful, have zero body fat, etc., but are dysfunctional in the extreme.

This book was fantastic. I literally could not put it down... I loved this book...I got so engrossed I was almost afraid to read the next chapter for fear for Avery. Did not want it to end.

While this was a well written, fascinating story, the are some aspects that I really struggled with; the biggest one was not telling the truth about who she was when she could. But that would have ended the story...

Couldn't stop listening to this book. Woman switches seat on airplane that crashes and is burned beyond recognition. When she awakes in the hospital everyone believes she's someone else. She's unable to communicate to tell them who she is and the other woman's family has her undergo reconstructive surgery. The other woman's husband sits by her bedside encouraging her and by the time she's able to communicate she starting to fall in love with him and decides to assumes that identity.

I had to work really hard to make peace with the premise of this book. I mean, if I found myself in Avery¿s position, I certainly wouldn¿t try to fake it and pretend to be Carole. If I didn¿t fess up, at the least I would act like I had amnesia!

Once I got past that ridiculousness, I actually enjoyed the story. I had part of it figured out by the end, but I didn¿t know who was actually going to pull the trigger or who was ultimately behind it all.

It wasn't that I didn't like Mirror Image, it was more that it bored me at times. Yes the story was completely contrived and yes, I knew how it would end, but the story was still a lot of fun. I think I had more problems with Brown's writing than with the story.

I have read this book several times over the years! Loved it!

A good mix of suspense and romance. I hoped Avery would get her HEA, but I didn't figure out exactly who was in on the assasination plot, which made reading this book even more fun.
