Preface

My objective in writing this book is to help you save time and to minimize your worry about planning for dinner. Having twelve months of meal ideas with corresponding recipes will help alleviate your mind from having one less thing to do each day. Also included are matching shopping lists with items that can be found in most every supermarket; I don't cook with fresh fish from the ocean or international foods because I live in Oklahoma; I use common, everyday foods. The weekly memory verses are there to help you learn more about Christ and to rely on Him to help you plan your day. Under the title of each recipe is the approximate amount of time it would take to prepare the meal so that you can budget your time in or out of the kitchen. If you are not an experienced cook, don't worry; your family won't know the difference. The recipes in this book are easy to understand and down-to-earth. I have designed the recipes in a step-by-step lay out so you won't miss any hidden key points. Saving time in the kitchen will give you more time to pray, read the Bible, and spend time with your family: physically, emotionally, and spiritually

This book will help you to take a mental vacation from having to decide, "What's for dinner?" I present you with the main course while allowing you to be creative (or not) with the side dishes and desserts (in the back). In my family, I normally prepare the main meal and maybe a vegetable, but not always. I have been known to be creative and mix the main meal with a vegetable in order to make a balanced menu for my family. The goal of this meal planner is to help you to become more organized and prepared for your family. If you know what menus are down for the week, what to buy while you are at the grocery store, and where all the recipes are located, then this book will give you more time to meditate, study the Bible, spend time with your family, and ultimately, serve God.
