About the Author

An innovative sensei and author Larry Louderback is the owner of South Florida Samurai; his goal is to help as many people as he can learn the value of the martial arts training. Larry has been involved in the martial arts since 1980; he has seen the changes it has made in his life, he has gone from a shy introverted kid to confident and outgoing, a man that rises to challenges of life, he wants others to benefit as well.
Larry says his most rewarding experience has been training his teenage son, Cole.
Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate Do is their focus of study; but they also train with the katana and nunchaku. Father and son also work with a group of martial artists teaching self-defense seminars as well.
His favorite quote is from Ralph Waldo Emerson - "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."
Having that quote in mind he created an opportunity; in 1999, he began teaching karate classes at the clubhouse in his community, something that had never been done. He walked door to door to over 300 homes passing out flyers and talking with neighbors. He started his classes with five students and the classes quickly grew.
Larry, in his own words, is a true "karate geek" he collects martial arts related items, toys, shirts, etc. and has even designed and built his own line of nunchaku.
In this book Larry wants to share stories of his 30 plus year journey. All martial artists have great stories too; those stories inspire and make us laugh; it's all a part of our Martial Arts Soul.
