About the Author

Weddings are murder. Trust me, I've been a wedding planner for over 20 years and, boy, do I have the stories to prove it! I was inspired to write the Annabelle Archer mystery series because of an overwhelming desire to kill a particularly unpleasant Mother-of-the-Bride, or MOB. Realizing that actually doing the deed would be bad for business, I settled for writing murder instead. The resulting fictionalized expose of the Washington wedding industry has been called "the perfect mixture of mirth and murder" and BETTER OFF WED won the Agatha Award for Best First Novel.

The real-life antics of my colleagues and clients continue to inspire my writing but I plan fewer weddings now so I can write more books.

This was a fun, lighthearted mystery that didn’t involve murder lol! Even though it’s got a Christmas theme, it’s a great read for anytime of the year!

This is once again a brilliant story line even if it does deviate just a little from the norm such as Annabelle's "deadly" wedding games. This story still has twists and turns which seems to be an every day occurrence for the Wedding Belles owner. This is a wonderful story about the meaning of the season and is a tribute to the author's ability to breathe life into each page while keeping all the characters idiosyncrasies intact but also adding a deeper meaning for the purpose of the story. Purely wonderful and fun to read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Intriguing WOW! Although this may have been the latest book within the series, it's the first and only one I've read (so far). It's also my first Laura Durham book. I did not feel as though I was lost and didn't know what was going on.... No just the opposite.... I'm intrigued with this storyline and want to go back and read the enire series from the beginning to see all the excitement I missed! This is a quick story set sound Christmas but not focused solely on the holiday.... Oh wedding planning could be so much fun :). ARC received from BookSprout for an honest voluntary review.

I love the characters and the story is just a compelling. Difficult to put down, I just read it right through. I enjoyed every word. I am a cozy fan, among other genres but this series has my favorite character, best friend Richard. His drama queen actions make me laugh! And of course, Annabelle is an awesome planner and person. The first “Christmas book” in this wonderful mystery series is a complete winner. I'm usually a bit turned off by the term "heartwarming" because it sounds so bland and Pollyannaish but the author, Laura Durham, manages to both warm the heart and tickle the funny bone at the same time. All Durham's wedding planner books contain huge helpings of humor without losing their strong narrative drive, but Marry and Bright is the funniest to date. This time, there is nary a dead body in sight, just an abandoned baby and the hunt for the abandoner. All ends well as Annabelle and her wacky but ingenious crew not only figure out whodunit but how to gift-wrap the entire adventure with a shiny yuletide bow. A perfect holiday read!

NICE NOVELLA! It’s Christmas Season and the Wedding Belles gang are looking forward to three things in this Novella: finishing the Wedding for a Bride who acts like a Scroogzilla; waiting (im)patiently for the list of top vendors listed in the Capital Weddings Magazine (supposedly being listed can make you or break you); and planning their own Christmas party for Wedding Belles and their favorite vendors and friends. Annabelle Archer & her assistant Kate have a knack for solving mysteries - even murder mysteries. Which is quite a conundrum for Annabelle’s boyfriend Reese who’s a police detective. He wants her to be safe not running around chasing bad guys! Particularly not during the holidays! This time they don’t find a body, but Buster & Mack & find a BABY instead! It’s a beautiful baby girl! She was left on the steps of their church. Everyone is concerned but not sure how to help. They all know the don’t want the baby to get put in the foster system. Everyone pitches in to help care for “Merry” but Annabelle & Kate are relentless in finding her Mother. If you’ve read any of the other books in this series you know Annabelle is relentless when she sets her mind onto something! The adventures they get into are something else! Durham writes wonderfully descriptive passages that make you feel as though you are right beside them experiencing everything they do! It’s great entertainment and fun characters that you grow to love more and more with each book. I was provided an ARC of this book by the Author.
