I am not sure of the wisdom of following the advice of this book whole-heartedly. The science behind following a completely low-carb diet seems faulty to me. On the other hand, I do eat far too many carbohydrates, so I have worked a good number of these recipes into my diet. They are delicious! Whether or not the science is sound, the recipes are great, and they make for a perfect addition to a healthy diet.

Every recipe has calorie info, but no carb info! Yet the title is Low-Carb Diet! Does not make since to me. Don't buy!!!!!

As someone who follows a low-carb diet for medical reasons I am always on the lookout for new flavor profiles and ways to prepare my everyday staples. That is why I choose to read this book! The beginning of the book provides information on good carbs vs bad carbs and breaks down some of the common myths; this is important for even the most experienced low-carb eater to rehash because we could always use a refresher. And, as I had hoped, I picked up a few new flavors to add to my arsenal and a number of recipes to test with the family. Overall, I am a fan of this book!

This is a well-organized, comprehensive book, including interesting recipes, to help you on your weight loss journey using a low carb diet. Through Low Carb Diet for Beginners, you will learn the ins and outs of this style of eating, discover new and interesting ways of preparing low carb foods of every sort and gain knowledge that will help you succeed. I recommend this book to help you get grounded in the low carb eating philosophy, from there you can get more specialized books.

Having never tried a low carb diet, I found this book to be very informative and useful.  It clearly spells out why the diet holds specific benefits such as alleviation of depression and reduction of the risk of diabetes as well as weight loss.  The book also contains a seven-day meal plan and excellent recipes, which have served as inspiration for a few new vegetables to grow in my garden this summer.   This book is a really great introduction to the overall way of eating.

This book provides more information about low-carb diets than recipes. If you are new to low-carb diets, it has a wealth of information on the science it claims supports the effectiveness and health benefits of low-carb diets, but does not include references to the research on which the opinions are based. This is a good book for someone seeking general knowledge about low-carb diets and a few recipes for each meal to get started. But the number of recipes is limited.

This book is an excellent reading source for the beginner reader if they are interested in learning more about the Low-Carb dieting world. I was able to immediately relate to the symptoms of the carb “overloading” described in this book, and to why it happens to the human body. I feel that this book gives me some foundation to start to do more research on the low-carb diet, and it gives plenty of recipes so that you can get a glimpse of what is in store for you. All of the ingredients are simple and easily accessible to people not only in the suburb setting, but also a rural setting.

This book is great for beginners because it explains everything about a low carb diet, and what it is good for, and what sypmtoms it can alleviate such depression and reducing insulin, it explains the affect of bad carbs and good carbs, and what are bad carbs like sugar and bread and such.  It talks about weight loss, and gives several recipes that are easy to follow. Chapter 3 goes into meal plans which makes things easier for you to get on your low carb diet. It gives a lot of information about high blood sugar and benfits of the low carb diet.  I have done low carb diets before so this is not new to me, but for someone who has never done this before this book is great on informing as there is a lot of information in here.

Low Carb For Beginners is a great well written book explaining how low carb diets work. It's informative and I learned all about the good vs bad carbohydrates. After getting a better understanding I gave it a try for myself and happy I did because I am seeing results..  This is a excellent and very informative read for anyone whether you are wanting to lose weight or not.

This is a great starter cookbook if you are thinking of trying a Low Carb Diet. The beginning of the book actually gives you information about a Low Carb diet and the benefits of it. I love that the book gives advice on low-carb eating, reading food labels,  and even how to eat low carb when dining out. After you have read through the important information, which I found VERY helpful, then you get to the recipes. Like other cookbooks it is divided into sections and only has a few recipes per section. I like that because you can get this, read up and try out some recipes before you commit to the diet. This is an excellent read and very informative.

This book is a great starting point for those looking to begin the low carb lifestyle.  It is easy to read, breaks down sections into clear explanatory points, provides great recipes and debunks popular myths regarding low carb.  The recipes are the best part, but the first section is not to be skipped.  It provides you with all the “whys” in regards to low carb living.  The alternatives given as well as real life tips for cooking and eating out are GREAT.  Two thumbs up.

The layout is simple and relatively easy to use. All the technical information is in the beginning. Then recipes. I kind of wish there was an index at the back with a list of all the recipes, regardless of the meal to which they belong. But still a useful reference.

Great book! Very well written and the way it’s laid out makes it really easy to follow. And the way the authors explain the way the body actually uses carbs and the difference between good and bad carbs really makes sense now!

The Low Carb Diet for Beginners is full of useful information that enables the reader to understand the logic behind a low carb diet. With recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and dessert if you have the time to dedicate to the preparation this book is be perfect for you. For those of us with a somewhat busier lifestyle some of the recipes may not be practical for day to day living it however makes sense to at least integrate some of the recipes into a healthier diet.

Low-carb dieting is the way to go if you follow these well planned out weekly recipes.  This book explains the benefits and even negates some of the myths that go along with adopting a low carb diet.  I appreciated the focus on not eating white grain products, and the revelation of the secret large amounts of sugars that can be found in some wines!

The Low Carb Diet for Beginners makes the science in how low carb diets work very easy and accessible. Section one is all about hormones and how insulin works with fat; section two gets into managing a diet with a seven day plan, and section three is all recipes.  This is a really good resource for someone just starting low-carb, who wants to know how low carb diets work.

This book not only enlightened me on how to adapt a Low Carb Diet, but also how to identify its different forms. I heard rumors that it can cause osteoporosis. Three of my four grandparents developed osteoporosis, so I didn’t want to start a plan that would make me feel better now, only to be worse in my advanced ages. Luckily, this book also showed me why low carb diets can be attributed to it and how to stay away from those factors. I will be eating my Bacon-Chile-Cheese Bites with Pecans comfortably and without future worry.

This book has a great variety of low carb meals that are easy to make and enjoy. Low carb diets have been around for years, this books brings them into the 21st century with little twists that will help the dieter reach their goals. The biggest thing is……with this diet you will not be hungry!

It explains in a clear and interesting way that lowering your blood sugar (glucose) to safe levels is the key to gaining and maintaining proper body weight and improving your overall health. Balancing the hormones that tell you when you're hungry or full is the trick.
