Overview

In LOVED (Book #2 in the Vampire Journals), Caitlin and Caleb embark together on their quest to find the one object that can stop the imminent vampire and human war: the lost sword. An object of vampire lore, there is grave doubt over whether it even exists.

If there is any hope of finding it, they must first trace Caitlin's ancestry. Is she really the One? Their search begins with finding Caitlin's father. Who was he? Why did he abandon her? As the search broadens, they are shocked by what they discover about who she really is.

But they are not the only ones searching for the legendary sword. The Blacktide Coven wants it, too, and they are close on Caitlin and Caleb's trail. Worse, Caitlin's little brother, Sam, remains obsessed with finding his Dad. But Sam soon finds himself in way over his head, smack in the middle of a vampire war. Will he jeopardize their search?

Caitlin and Caleb's journey takes them on a whirlwind of historic locations--from the Hudson Valley, to Salem, to the heart of historic Boston--the very spot where witches were once hung on the hill of Boston Common. Why are these locations so important to the vampire race? And what do they have to do with Caitlin's ancestry, and with who she's becoming?

But they may not even make it. Caitlin and Caleb's love for each other is blossoming. And their forbidden romance may just destroy everything they've set out to achieve....

"LOVED, the second book in the Vampire Journals series, is just as great as the first book, TURNED, and jam packed with action, romance, adventure, and suspense. This book is a wonderful addition to this series and will have you wanting more from Morgan Rice. If you loved the first book, get your hands on this one and fall in love all over again. This book can be read as the sequel, but Rice writes it in a way that you do not need to know the first book in order to read this wonderful installment."

"THE VAMPIRE JOURNALS series has had a great plot, and LOVED especially was the kind of book you will have trouble putting down at night. The ending was a cliffhanger that was so spectacular that you will immediately want to buy the next book, just to see what happens. As you can see, this book was a huge step up in the series and receives a solid A."
--The Dallas Examiner

"In LOVED, Morgan Rice proves herself again to be an extremely talented storyteller....What was most enjoyable about LOVED is the history. When you get actual historical connections written in a book, you have a tendency to become much more fascinated in what happens to the characters. I feel LOVED would appeal to a wide range of audiences, including younger fans of the vampire/fantasy genre. The romance is PG-13, with no inappropriate love scenes that would have parents worried. LOVED is much deeper than the first installment. It develops and explains the characters in more detail, which helps the reader understand them better. The story moved along well, and ended with an unexpected cliffhanger that leaves you shocked. Engaging and fun, I found myself enjoying this book much more than the first and I am highly anticipating the next installment."

It was a good thing that I purchased Turned and Loved at the same time because it is so hard to wait for the next book to come out. It is another page turner were you just want to see what is going to happen next. Everytime you think you have things figured out, Morgan Rice throws something into the mix that changes the way you are looking at things. It is going to kill me to wait for Book #3 to be released!! Another great one by Morgan Rice!!!

My Blurb: Caitlin and Caleb find themselves on a puzzling journey searching for the whereabouts of the lost sword. Only 'The One' has the knowledge to find it and only Caleb believes Caitlin is 'The One' his coven has been waiting for. The rival Blacktide coven is hot on their trail and closing in quickly to steal the last sword. It's a race against time as the Vampire War against humans has begun and the wielder of the sword can stop it, or enslave the human race. Will Caitlin find the lost sword in time to save the human race or will Caitlin find out she's not 'The One' they think she is? Lets Talk About It: THIS should have been book one! After reading the first book, Turned, I was a little nervous. I'm all for paranormal books, love them, and I wasn't in love with Turned. But Loved, well, I loved Loved. Caitlin really develops into her character and I was totally drawn into the story after the first chapter. Of course there is the normal budding romance but the actual storyline mixed in with bits and pieces of history and the mystery of using 'clues' through out their journey for the missing sword was pure genius. I found myself mixed right into the mystery trying to solve the clues as if I were Caitlin and on the edge of my seat towards the end. Don't worry folks I won't give away any more than I already have about this book because you NEED to read it! If you've enjoyed Twilight, Sookie Stackhouse or Queen Betsy this book is right up your alley. Melissa Reviewer for 1000 + Books to Read

Morgan Rice needs an editor. Or if she has one, she needs to fire her editor and get a new one. There are more typos and errors in this book and it kept pulling me away from the story. I didn't even bother to finish it. The love story between Caleb and Caitlin is not even believable. Rice needed to flesh out this relationship in order for it to make any sense at all. And Morgan, if you're going to write descriptions about what the trailer park looks like, at least be consistent with your seasons. Knee-high weeds would not be growing in CT when the ground is snow covered only 3 hours away in NY. Thank goodness this book was only $3.

This series has a lot of potential....I like the ideas that the author has and it could of have been a great book if it were done differently. The story seems very rushed, and the author doesn't even take the time to introduce or give any kind of backround or description of anyone or anything. I really don't like the fact that Caleb and Caitlin are so in love but have only been around each other for a few days at the most. I understand that its an unrealistic book in the first place, but come on.I can get past all the bad grammar and spelling, but there is just so much of it, it is kind of a distraction. I don't know, I don't like to write bad reviews and I don't think its a lost cause but I think the author needs to get a good editor and maybe re-write it.
