Interesting characters. Interesting case with questions all the way to the end...as well as a last minute twist that makes me want to read book #2.

I was presently surprised with the twist and turns. All the characters were interesting. For a short story the leads had power and I enjoyed them a lot. I would recommend this book.

It's nice top have a believable scarred heroine as the wisecracking P.I. Not Angelina Jolie or Charlise Theron with superhuman strength and reflexes to compliment their supermodel beauty but a girl who knows her way around guns and cars, can't entice the men she wants but gets hit on regularly enough. She has to think her way around gunfights, but she doesn't have a debilitating respect for the law. Questions and answers have to be carefully considered.

Good quick read with interesting characters

It is a quick read and exciting story. I would consider it a short story and not a novel. It might be adaptable to a TV show, but there may need a few more characters developed to make it viable.

Great fast-paced P.I. novel. Loved all the references to the evolving internet and IT gadgets and apps. Good background story for the present day San Francisco.

Highly recommended This story has many good things going for it -- it is well written, has a strong woman as its main character. while keeping the mystery going until the very end. A pet peeve I have is when a story is not edited thoroughly. And, this one is done very well. As a bonus, there is another short story titled Loose Ends. While it is only a few short pages the story is complete and the mystery continues until the final pages.

Read like a take-off of a Mickey Spillane novel without the wit! Will not be getting any of the others in this series.

I love this new character and look forward to reading more of her adventures and getting to know her better. I hope the next story begins where this one left off because it didn't seem finished. Too many unanswered questions for me.
