O.C. Smith first made his mark in 1968 when he rose to #2 on the music charts with the Grammy-winning song, “Little Green Apples." Although the stage was set for a life in music, O.C. found himself increasingly drawn away from success in the entertainment world, toward a different light with new meaning in 1980 after attending a Science of Mind church in Los Angeles and hearing Joseph Murphy, a prominent New Thought leader.
With the spark now ignited, O.C.'s direction became clear and obvious as he spent years learning and studying to become a New Thought pastor himself which he did in 1985 when he opened the doors to The City of Angels Church of Religious Science in Los Angeles where thousands soon made it one of the landmark ministries in America. With the help of James Shaw, Ph.D., close friend, author and youth safety expert, the two have collected and presented O.C.'s best, most inspiring, down-to-earth writings and teachings.
