Most Helpful Customer Reviews
All Little Bear books are adored by the beginning reader, this one is no exception. Little Bear learns of the story of his grandfather as a boat captain (while cleaning the attic) and his grandmother as a young bride. His excitement is almost overflowing.
Little Bear's grandfather needs help in the attic, so up to the attic goes Little Bear. Once there, Grandfather begins telling him about his early life and his boat, the "Marco Polo." Lengthier blocks of text make it perfect for the early reader who needs something slightly more challenging. The classic illustrations provide a wonderful counterpart to the story, displaying the story simply and effectively. Recommended for public libraries. Ages 6-8
