This book was recommended by a support group that I have been working with to lose weight. I was very surprised when I started reading it, since most of these kind of books are pretty much the same, that this book is different in that it really gets to the problems most of us have when trying to lose weight. It really points out the mental and physical pit falls we face in losing weight.

I could not put this book down. The author seemed to be talking to me! I have read many 'diet' books in the past. This book describes the true reason behind overeating. She walks you through why you must deal with the problems within before you can be successful on any diet program. Reading this book finally put all of the pieces of the puzzle of losing weight together. I have recommended this book to my friends who are struggling with weight problems.

Ms. Spangle guides the readers into exploring their minds, moods, feelings and emotions in order to shed pounds permanently. This book is not another eat less, exercise more weight loss book. I agree with the ideas in `Life is hard food is easy¿ because in my experience of living healthfully, our thoughts are the keys to success. Life is hard, food is easy has thoroughly address this issue and provides the readers with many tips and suggestions they can apply in order to better understand their relationships with foods and bodies. In my own experience, even how hard we exercise and eat right, the weight loss won¿t be permanent if we fail to master our deepest thoughts and feelings. In this book, Ms. Spangle assists us on the journey of reconnecting with ourselves, understand, probably, for the first time why we eat when we are not even hungry, or why we eat more than our bodies need. She makes us realize that overweight is not just simply overeating. Here, she inspires us to discover our true, beautiful and unique selves. Her writing empower the readers to live their dreams of healthier and slimmer lives. Wishing you happy reading and life of peace and well-being.

This book is excellent. I have bought cassette tapes, lots of books and have surfed the web for information on this topic over the last 2 decades. I have never found anything as wonderful as this book. I feel as though I have finally found what I have been searching for.

I would recommand this book to anyone that eats because of stress, depression, bored, etc. This book made me really think and gave good advice to realize why I eat the way I do.

This book isn't another fad diet -- it focuses on WHY we reach for food, no matter what we weigh. The author will make you think. And she has practical suggestions for breaking through emotional barriers and taking care of ourselves instead of eating.
