'Lessford's Rabbits' was written by D H Lawrence in 1908. It was the second of his sixty-seven short stories, all of which will be published individually in ebook format by the Blackthorn Press. The story is set in a local school and gives an insight into the poverty and spirit of working class children as well as a glimpse of Lawrence's time as a teacher.
About the Author
David Herbert Lawrence was born in Nottinghamshire in 1885 and died in Vence, France, in 1930. He was the son of a coal-miner and a mother from a family with middle-class aspirations. He was a poet, novelist, travel writer, playwright, art critic as well as being one of the most consummate short story writers of the twentieth century.
