This retelling of the Gideon story in a 'wild west' setting is truly ingenious! Lots of details added to the artwork on each page. Younger children will enjoy finding the hidden geckos in the scenes. The rhyming storyline is well done and adds to the overall appeal. The 3-D computer generated artwork reminds me of Pixar production. Overall it is a book kids will want to read again and again. The lesson of standing up for what is right, even in the face of bullies is a lesson worth teaching our children. The discussion questions in the back of the book help bring home the message in a personal way. I hear there are going to be 5 stories in this series. I'm anxious to see the next book due out in January. In the meantime, Gid the Kid makes a great birthday or special present for those children in your life.

I just wanted to say that I thought this was one of the best children's books that I have seen and read in a long time. All the way from the story line to the Graphics. It looks like it came from a movie! Pixar style! Anyway...It keeps straight to the facts of the story in the bible even though it has the western twist to it. All of my little brothers and sisters enjoy reading it and want to read it over and over again. GO MILLER BROTHERS!!!
