Abnett, Lanning, and Gillen team-up to tell a New Mutants/Asgardian tale but sadly all those talented writers can't make it pan out. The book is light on both New Mutants and Asgardians that matter. This was a five issue series that is nonsense for four issues. None of the characters shine or make you want to read their exploits. The Asgardian plot should have been a running subplot in a Thor or Loki book, letting play out over time. The art was a complete miss. Most the females looked identical. Very hard to read clearly. Overall, not a book that I would recommend.
As the title of the volume says, this combines Journey Into Mystery (Thor, Loki, Hela, the Warriors Three) and the New Mutants (Moonstar, Sunspot, Magma, Warlock, Cypher, X-Man). It deals with these demons escaping from Hell and coming to San Francisco (where the New Mutants live). Thor, Loki, and the rest have lost their memories and falls on a childlike Loki (who is now a hero, apparently) to assist the mutants to defeat the demons. All in all, a good story, but really only for fans of either series. A general comics fan probably wouldn't find it a great story.
