Overview

Both Inside You (1981) and The Real Deal (1982) went Top 10 R&B, but the former broke a streak of nine consecutive gold or platinum studio albums from the Isley Brothers, and the latter fared similarly. Several singles from the albums -- the title tracks among them -- charted, but not one was a major hit on the level of early-'80s smashes like "Don't Say Goodnight (It's Time for Love)" or "Between the Sheets." That explains why neither one of these albums received attention, reissue-wise, until BGO in the U.K. combined them in 2007. Inside You and The Real Deal are satisfactory, but by the group's standard, they should be of interest to only the most serious fans. They're presented here on a single disc with no bonus cuts.
