Overview
Three lives in three different periods of time are interconnected by the Battle of Arnhem. One is a paratrooper with the British 1st Airborne Division who learns to survive the chaos of war. Another is an actress who has battles of her own and settles into the quiet suburb of Oosterbeek only to find out her family's deep dark secret. The last is a Canadian writer who is fascinated with the battle and, during his research trip to Arnhem, he uncovers a lot more than he had expected to find. None of the three have ever met, yet all three are bound together in a story that expands seven decades.
