Overview

Nothing can stop Raine Cooper when she wants something...
Raine finally knows that her gorgeous neighbor, Torin St. James, is a legend straight out of Norse mythology, and that her feelings for him are strong. Torin is crazy about Raine too, breaking the one rule he lives by: Never fall for a mortal. The problem is he no longer remembers her, his memories erased by Norns-Norse destiny deities-to punish her for defying them.

So Raine comes up with a plan...
She will make Torin forget his one rule a second time and fall in love with her all over again.
But she quickly learns that well-laid plans do not work when dealing with deities and supernatural beings. Desperate, Raine makes choices that could not only tear her and Torin further apart, but lead to the destruction of everything and everyone she loves

You know, I was really starting to like these books and the actual story- but I just can't read another word of the whole oohy gooey, lovey, gushy- and frankly just cheesiness of Raine and Torin. I can deal with the typical unrealistic, "Omg-we are so in love and I would die for you even though we just met a week ago" thing to an extent- but 95% of this book is Raine fawning about Torin. There isn't a sentence where if they are so much as talking that isn't interupted by her thoughts of how much she loves him, how sexy he is-blah, blah, blah. It makes her character so unlikeable, as well as his because the author turns him into a big marshmellow too. It needs less of this and a lot more of the actual story of the gods, norns, and what everybody is and the actual plot. Shame- it had real potential.

I really, really enjoyed Runes - the first book in the series, and this was just as good. In fact, I think I enjoyed reading it even more, because I felt like I really knew the characters. One thing that I have to mention is that there was a pretty big plot twist. You know how some books have these amazingly convoluted and far fetched twists that make you feel like they were just for the sake of it? That was not at all the case over here. The buildup to the reveal was perfectly timed, and when I finally realized what happened (no spoilers), I felt "Oh my god, I so should have seen that coming," but I didn't because, well, it was done so well. I fell in love with the characters even more, and the characters continued to develop in realistic, but amazing ways. Especially Andris - I'm glad we got to see another, hilarious side of him that I loved, and you probably will too. Immortals is free if you subscribe to Ednah Walters' newsletter, and I really recommend you should do that.

In the sequel to Runes, Ednah Walters hits another home run. Should Raine concentrate on reclaiming her love or protecting her friend? The story unfolds as the reader holds their breath, waiting to see how the relationship between Raine and Torin progresses (or does it? No spoilers from me). We have a front row seat at Raine begins to come into her power. The excellent story and outstanding characters drew me in and would not let go until I'd finished the book, after which I promptly searched for the next one in the series.

I absolutely  love Torin he's my favorite book bf he's so sweet and loves raine they are determines to be together even though he doesn't remember her she has to make him fall in love with her again it has become her goal to remind him of their past  he isn't suppose to break the rules mortals are not suppose to know about  his world but something is different about raine

Raine & Torin are at it again, but they have a few stumbling blocks to get past - like the fact that Torin doesn't remember ever having known Raine... And, Raine is in for the surprise of her life! Great read! Can't wait to share this series with my daughter!

Another winner! This one also includes a glossary which some may find helpful. I personally found that I didn't really need it but it's there if I did which is cool. Raine's growth in this book is awesome. We have some new characters in this one and are going a bit deeper into Norse mythology (which I loved!). One character that I didn't really like in book 1, Andris, is quickly becoming one of my favorites. And another character from book 1 is giving a whole new meaning to cruel (and something of a psycho...at least in my opinion). Once again, Ednah Walters provided a book that pulled me in and didn't let go! WHY didn't I read this series sooner?! If you loved Runes, then I'm sure Immortals won't disappoint! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
