Overview
This collection gathers 11 tracks featuring "the best" of the seminal power trio's recordings from 1966-1969. All the usual suspects are here, including "Sunshine of Your Love," "Strange Brew," "White Room," and "Crossroads." While this is a tolerable retrospective of Cream's glory days at a budget price, the superior compilation is the double-disc Icon 2 on Polydor/Universal. That set provides the full Cream experience with the first CD devoted to their studio work and the second to live recordings which show the intensity and improvisation not always captured by the band in the studio.
